Yes, but it's about 5 hours between BKI - TNA. There are 213 seats on the plane.

PK-LOF was at BKI too today doing another round of China charters. Now back at DPS. Speaking of which, will there be a possibility for JT to pick up the slack left by AirAsia and start regular DPS-BKI service?

Equipment upgrade, MAS2662 operated by A333 9M-MTI 30 mins to touch down. Furthermore, an A319 (blocked) departed from Kuatan now descending to WBKK about 10-15mins to touch down,

BKI looks pretty messed up at the moment, presumably due to the torrential downpour I see outside

AK1792 from SIN done a missed approach

As have MH2638 and MH2640 from KUL

MH81 from NRT been doing circles above for a while

As has OD1012 from KUL

MH2638 has now landed at LBU

MH81 headed in same direction it seem

MH2640 and AK1792 appear to heading to MYY

OD1012 still persisting above, hoping for break in weather perhaps, which seem likely since it has quitened down outside for now

AK5130 from KUL now joining in the party

:D

MH2640 already at MYY, AK1792 touching down soon

OD1012 going to join them soon it seem

AK5130 has landed at BKI, place presumably cleared, business to resume shortly :)

Doesn't seem like the refugees at LBU and MYY are reawakening yet

OD1006 from KUL now approaching BKI from south, I can hear the rain intensifying outside

LJ61 (Jin Air) from ICN following in approach

Both OD1006 and LJ61 already on the ground

9C8593 (Spring Airlines) now coming in from PVG

MH2640 has now departed MYY for BKI it seem

MH2638 stirring at LBU

And I still hear rain getting heavier outside

MH2640 making her way in now

MH2638 departed LBU and AK1792 from MYY

MH81D just departed LBU

All making the final hop hopefully :D

OD1012 also joined the queue from MYY

Things gonna get plenty hectic/chaotic at BKI arrival hall soon :)

If it is raining, can they get off the plane?

Will ground crew be able to handle the plane and risk a lightning strike?

Incredible, MH2640 has just done another go round

As has MH2638

MH81D doing circles over Kuala Penyu

AK1792 and OD1012 heading here too. more in hope rather than anything ?

Now we see AK1602 from CGK and AK6267 from TWU coming in to join the party

One can only imagine the anxiety and growing frustration up there now

I make that seven flights flying in circles/patterns off eastern Sabah coast waiting for the still unrelenting rain here to subside

Also incoming are

AK238 from HKG (already flying circles above northern edge of Sabah)

ZE501 (Eastarjet) from ICN

7C2501 (Jeju Air) from ICN

OZ757 (Asiana) from ICN

AK5134 from KUL

MH2628 from KUL

Mercifully OD1012 and MH81D are now on the ground, rain still persistent outside

MH2638 coming in soon

I make it there will be 13 aircrafts in the 738/320/321 category congregated at BKI very soon, unless they are able to keep one or more of them looping circles in the air for a while (but for how long ?)

Plus the rain has just restarted

Pretty/Serene it isn't going to be at BKI

I pity the crews and the pax. even the ATC. such a headache to contend with. and I wonder if we have enough stands for all the aircrafts. Will be demoralizing for those stuck at the airport/aircraft after such a long day.

I was also listening on 8/9 evening and it was interesting but didn't continue as it was getting late for me. Mr Director and the team at kinabalu ATC sure had a busy shift that night.

Though the worse I think was in October 2014? Just before the Donggongon flood, it rained most of the time for 8 continuous days and the heaviest on the last. I can just hear the fatigue and frustration from the ATC crews, as planes do another go around thinking the rain has stopped but it didn't. Even the pilots were also saying it's been a bad week if i recall correctly.

CZ8693 (from Guangzhou), MH8805 (from Nanning), KA65 (from Hong Kong), AK5118 (from KUL) and AK5304 (from JHB) approaching BKI, MH2134 just left TWU heading here, and I hear the rain intensifying outside now

Wonder if ATC is holding breath ?! :)

Weather in kk been heavy these past few days. Funny it doesn't look bad on rain alarm like the intensity of the precipitation has been gorged down significantly.

Good photo that Sam..a 737-800 with eyebrows and without winglets.. one look you could've mistaken it for a Classic.

Thanks Bro~ yeah. indeed.. somemore, a non-winglets 737NG's is quite a rare species in the region. haha
