MAB A350-900 Regional Flights to PEN, BKK, SIN & BKI from 9 December 2017

Recommended Posts

The heliconia livery was too heavy for them to lug around. But good exposure to the brand

agree, they have dropped the classic cheatline livery so no point for them picking up the even heavier heliconia livery... the negaraku livery also left almost half of the front body plain color

Airbus A350

In 2015, we leased 4 Airbus A350-900s from ALC Leasing in California to replace our A380 aircraft on the London route. This was followed up by the lease of a further 2 A350-900s in early 2016. These aircraft have First, Business, Premium Economy and Economy class cabins. The first delivery of the A350 is expected at the end of November 2017 and the first operation of this aircraft on the London route is scheduled for 15 January 2018. The sixth and final A350 is due to arrive in Malaysia at the end of June 2018.

The A350-900 can operate non-stop to any point in Europe, New Zealand and North Asia. Final commercial evaluation on the routes to be operated by the fifth and sixth aircraft is ongoing. The A350 aircraft are financed on a monthly rental lease agreement over a 12 year period.

The Premium Economy bit does not correspond with the latest seat number that we have i.e. F4 C31 Y251.

The Premium Economy bit does not correspond with the latest seat number that we have i.e. F4 C31 Y251.

That premium Y is actually part of the total Y capacity. It is just Y seats with a bit more legroom.

maybe sort of Economy Plus with extra legroom as we can see just like 2 rows Y+ behind J class in A330. A380 also has the same thing, the seats counted 486 as 494 previously reported.

A330 already has this Premium Eco. There are two rows of them and during flight, the area is cordoned off by a curtain from the rest of Economy.

Y 9 abreast, premium Y 8 abreast?

This was the cancelled product on the A380, which supposed to occupy the small cabin at the back of the upper deck, where the small Y cabin is located now.

For the A350, it should follow the Y seat configuration.

Malaysia Airlines looks to 'right-size' Airbus A350 first class

You don’t need a large first class cabin to make luxury travel a viable proposition, Malaysia Airlines believes, with its upcoming Airbus A350 jets to feature just four first class suites.
But how will this play out when that's only half as many as found aboard the Oneworld member's Airbus A380s, which the A350s will eventually replace?
Malaysia Airlines CEO Peter Bellew speaks exclusively with Australian Business Traveller on the future of first class for the resurgent airline.
Read it here:

It should be a good thing. Lesser F seats (only 4 on each flight) means MH can demand a higher yield for it. Make it so exclusive that it is so hard to get them (you want it, buy it). However, at the end of the day, the seat is just an equal to QF's J, per the article.

Nice info about Tokyo and Auckland being the top bets for the other A350 destinations. If AKL gets the A350, I think the redemption for F seats should be easy to secure.

Hot hot hot from the MH Rumour Department:

Schedule for A350 training flights will be uploaded soon.

Training flights will run through December 2017 until January 2018.

The lucky destinations are PEN and SIN. Maybe a few more (BKI and KCH please keep your fingers crossed).

And obviously, there will be a brand new smashing inflight safety video.

And, there could be a surprise at AMS but don't hold your breath over it.
