Muller Mula Mengganas - New MAS Business Class Meals Made Its Shocking Debut Today

Recommended Posts

can't they swap to cheaper food options ? "steak" on domestic business ? they could save on the (expensive) meat by making it into a casserole paired with mash.

why not excel at something , over providing a "so-so" solution. the purpose of J class meal is not to get full ... its to feel special ! I think MH has missed this crucial point if they are planing to roll out this "solution" to their problems.

Some airline like sq try to give experience (e.g meal) better than pax average expectation. May be recent survey found mh domestic j pax expectations on meal is easily satisfied hence the downgrading.

Was the survey conducted by the same bunch of people way back when they concluded that, allegedly, 94% of pax surveyed preferred snack boxes stuffed with cold, inconsistently-made sandwiches on sectors like KUL-BKK, while their rivals operating the same route offered (and still do) actual hot meal? /s

To quote former CO CEO Gordon Bethune, who did a great job reviving the ailing airline: You can make a pizza so cheap, nobody will eat it. IMO Muller will need to provide a service that can compete with the like of SQ, TG, GA, VN et al if they want to turn newco around and stay relevant; mere cost-cutting measures by taking away amenities that used to be there like this that affect service levels will only serve to sway savvy travellers away, and in turn affect long-term viability of the newco, especially if they still cannot compete price-wise with rivals that promise better services.

Admittedly it is a tall order to sway the public perception around after all these negative presses, but if he can shed off all the bloated legacy contracts and optimise the costs and expenditures, it should be easier to achieve both cost-savings and better-than-existing services.

What you flew on on JL isn't "business" class per se. It's a bigger seat at the front of the cabin for ¥1000 over and above your existing fare - they call it class J but has no lounge access or anything. Only benefit is if you're in a mileage run with BA , AA or QF where they pay quite handsomely.

Lol that was the main reason i took the flights...to boost status credits :p

Only the morning flight ex-KUL which is normally operated by an A320-200 with no proper Business Class...
