Not the best conditions to snap with the setting sun on the other side, but this was the best available, after some editing.

Departed Penang at about 6:20pm today.

By the way, did you use a ladder for this? Fence there is quite high.

SS Lee, no ladder. I don't have one. Stood on the fibreglass bins that are there.

Oh... I see. I should try that the next time.

Here are some shots from Sunday, after some absence from spotting.

It is never wise to be snapping with the sun in front of you, but hey, well worth it.

What a lovely sight. Saw an airplane tail while I was approaching the airport. Didn't thought of anything at first, but after clearing the cement wall, ......................

Thanks Laurie. With Cathay Pacific being replaced by Dragonair, A340s are gonna be really hard to come by these days.

The 777 was the main catch of the day, though some extras were the RNZAF B752 and the G-V.

A shame though that this was the only time suitable to snap MAS' heavy into Penang.

There were a few other days where MAS sent its 333 and 772 up here.

Other days when the camera was ready for them, the 738 was used.

9M-MRM was good enough.

The RMAFs A400 did a few circuits at Ipoh's airport before doing a touch-and-go at WMKP sometime around 10am.

Alliance Airlines' Fokker 100 also made a refuelling stop from Jakarta.

Anyone lucky to have caught these two birds?

I thought the A400M is still grounded at this point of time?

The RMAF's A400M resumed flights in the past two weeks. Earlier this week, it performed a night sortie from SZB to PEN - circled to PEN airport and returned to SZB after that. About a 3 hour mission.
