The front part of the aircraft still deprive off proper sunlight. Think should be better around 10am. My flight was 0745 to SDK.

Still no idea who's the VIP in town.

yes, some A320s (and B738) are not equipped with ADS-B, they are in a minority though a number of them exist. MAs have 2 B738 that does not show on FR24 - 9M-MLK & 9M-FFE as far as I am aware.. Listening to airband is perhaps easier to catch who is coming and going.

MLAT5 is showing non ads-b traffics a little for high levels (FL>300) above WBKK and to the South around the Kalimantan-Brunei-Sabah-Sarawak border. If anyone has contacts at Kudat/Kota Marudu and also anyone in KK with a good view of the sky please share with them about FR24 and their kit - hoping to improve ads-b & MLAT5 coverage. Can contact me if there is any questions.

More surprises today!!! From TNN but no info on this aircraft. PK-OCR was previously registered as a heli for AirFast Indonesia.

RBA's fleet of A343. B744 and sometimes the B763 does come over to TWU, SDK, BKI, LBU and MYY to do touch and go.

Hoping to see RMAF A400M in BKI myself... only time will tell when that will happen.

At the moment SDK of all the airports in Sabah & Sarawak has the highest chance of seeing the Brunei aircraft. Usually they would do a few touch and then maybe a TnG or low level flypass in Tawau before heading back to BWN. This time around I think they just did a low level flypass in SDK, then TWU and BKI before heading back to BWN. My money was on them skipping BKI since it's a rather busy airport and ATC did reject them on this ground before.

On the A400, again SDK had the privilege of seeing them not once but twice this week, directly from SZB to SDK before heading to KCH. I would have thought there should be a short stopover in LBU (air force base) or TWU (heighten security due to incursion 2 years ago). Again I was wrong.

Remind me not to gamble for at least a short while ya.

Good catch Waiping! :) I wonder if this A342 will be painted in the new livery?

A new livery similar to V8-ALI perhaps but not the one with RB as logo please.

Ok Waiping thanks for the info. So long the A400M keeps its ads-b on we have a long shot in seeing it in WBKK, you have a better chance than us to spot it when it heads over here!

I went to the airport perimeter at Jalan Selangor at around 9.30pm on Friday night last week. Parked my car beside the fence overlooking terminal 1. There were two other vehicles parked nearby. I turned off the lights, then began listening to liveatc.net feed while watching the aircrafts in action. Some minutes later, I spotted something moving from behind my car through my rear mirror. I began to got scared, and immediately shut the windows.

Then, that 'something' came closer to just beside my car, directly facing the driver's seat. Then, a flash light was pointed towards me. Turned out it was a policeman on duty that night. Feeling relieved but catious, I reopen the window. He asked me my reason I went there, to which I replied listening to ATC...while eating keropok. He seemed not bothered by my presence and then immediately left. I didn't realised the policeman was patrolling that night because he came to the area with his bike's lights turned off - most probably to ensure his presence is discreet.

That was my story about my experience of aircraft spotting at night in BKI... but, no photos though...

Night time spotting at Jln Selangor - gave that up years ago :)

My personal opinion - the potential risk to one's personal safety there far outweighs what that can possibly be seen in the pitch black darkness, not surprised at all ..... "no photos though" :)

Admire your tenacity :good:

Just wanted to bring this up to date.

It's been awhile since a Jumbo showed up.

If you are wondering, sorry I didn't get V8-ALI.
