What has no permit to fly has got to do with crash? Can someone enlighten me pls

Don't think anyone here implying there is a direct relationship between having no licence means ending up with the crash.

By the way did they say the diver found more body at the tail area or were the bodies which were found earlier came off this tail section?

Maybe it's like driving without a valid license. Doesn't guarantee accidents won't happen.

Seeme like progress has been slow despite good weather. Only 40 bodies recovered?

I am so sure that the Minister who barked on the illegality matter will ended up malu himself. This kind of attitude (barking without thorough checking) is so common among powerful Kepalas over there especially to foreign own companies (specifically from the Maling-land) whose mission is in the most cliche term - to merampok kedaulatan negara Indonesia. Now that the illegal paperwork thing involves their local airlines as well (hopefully Garuda can be roped in too just to establish a bigger basis that it is a non-issue), ICAO Cat 2 matters are in the open, it wil be backfired that they are the one who is so slow and not doing things as per what they actually barked to the effected parties.

Garuda joined the bandwagon, as expected. http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/world/article/indonesia-suspends-dozens-of-flights-for-no-permits

Garuda is now accused of having 61 'illegal' flights in the same nature as the doomed QZ8501 and they are furious! http://www.merdeka.com/uang/garuda-indonesia-bantah-miliki-izin-rute-penerbangan-ilegal.html

And as expected and well predicted, the minister is now indeed malu himself.

http://www.merdeka.com/peristiwa/setelah-jawab-enggak-tahu-jonan-akui-salah-soal-maskapai-ilegal.html

If I may translate the article to English based on my understanding:

The Transport Minister finally admitted that the surprisingly high number of 'illegal' flights within Indonesia is due to his Ministry's fault. The minister had earlier on accused and blamed AirAsia for operating an illegal flight which ended up in the tragedy. He was also banning AirAsia from doing any cheap fares promo under the pretence that the airline is not prioritizing its passengers' safety.

"The Ministry is not at fault, but rather the people who runs it."

When asked by the journalists how long has these 'illegality' matters being delayed by his ministry, he simply replied "I don't know."

After being pushed and interrogated by the journalists, the Minister finally admitted that his ministry is slow and helpless when it comes to enforcement. He promised that as a proceed from this AirAsia tragedy, his Ministry will take the necessary actions to change.

"If we never admit our faults and mistakes, we will never change," he said before ending the press conference abruptly.

Seeme like progress has been slow despite good weather. Only 40 bodies recovered?

A joint search and rescue (SAR) team recovered on Friday five more bodies of victims of an AirAsia flight that crashed two weeks ago, bringing the number of bodies recovered to 48 on the 13th day of the SAR operation.

Divers find black box

Pangkalan bun/Jakarta: Indonesian divers have found the crucial black box flight recorders of the AirAsia plane that crashed in the Java Sea a fortnight ago with 162 people aboard, the transport ministry says.

But they failed to retrieve it immediately from the seabed because it was stuck under debris from the main body of the plane, the ministry added.
"The navy divers in Jadayat state boat have succeeded in finding a very important instrument, the black box of AirAsia QZ8501," said Tonny Budiono, a navigation director for the transport ministry.

Data unit of QZ8501 black box heads to Jakarta for analysis: Moeldoko

PANGKALAN BUN, Indonesia: A flight data recorder recovered from near the crash site of AirAsia flight QZ8501 on Monday (Jan 12) is slated to arrive in Jakarta for analysis that could begin immediately and show initial results in two days, Indonesia military chief General Moeldoko told reporters here.
Divers from Indonesia retrieved the flight data recorder near wreckage of the Airbus A320-200 that went down on Dec 28 in the Java Sea with 162 people on board. The companion voice data recorder has also been located, but it has not yet been retrieved from the sea. AP reports that the voice recorder was found just hours later, but remains lodged beneath heavy wreckage and divers are struggling to free it at a depth of 32 metres, according to Indonesia's search and rescue chief.

No need for the black box data to be analysed this Supriyadi guy has worked it out. :fool:

Even allowing for poor translation this guy is clearly talking about something he clearly knows nothing about, but great stuff for uninformed journalists to base their story on.

Tragic AirAsia Flight QZ8501 'exploded' before it crashed into the sea

Since then, salvage experts have been studying the wreckage and today they revealed their findings - that the plane broke apart as it struggled to cope with the steep descent.

S.B. Supriyadi, a director with the Indonesian national search and rescue agency, said: "My analysis is, based on the wreckage found and other findings, the plane experienced an explosion before it hit the water.

"The cabin was pressurised and before the pressure of the cabin could be adjusted, it went down - boom. That explosion was heard in the area.”

Looks like the fuselage is still largely intact - must be more challenging for recovery team to retrieve the remaining bodies still trapped inside :(

They are now talking about bringing the fuselage to the surface.

Clear weather was reported today, and more news about the wreckage, and human bodies were reviewed. Like some of the deceased passengers found, the latest found 5 victims were still strapped to their seats and was partially embedded in the ocean mud floor not far away from the fuselage.

News were also made public about the frantic cockpit crew trying to maintain flight as numerous alarms went off (including stall alarm) drowning their voices to the background. I could only imagine the dreadful short couple of minutes the plane has before it plummeted into the sea.

Also not disputed were the findings of a sudden accent of the plane to 6 thousands feet a minute with aviation experts saying it is possible, but how and why remains unclear.
