Izhar Z 1 Report post Posted July 24, 2014 According to KJ the uniforms are worn by the athletes. No wonder the coats look oversized. Still a surreal moment seing our flag at half mast & MH uniforms lead the contingent.
Suzanne Goh 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2014 GO Malaysia. In pain, but still - life goes on and i'm sure our athletes will do us proud!

iwan 3 Report post Posted July 24, 2014 It was a nice gesture. Could be a PR nightmare but a good gesture nonetheless. Might give a little morale boost to our athletes and MAS crews themselves.
Khalil Abd Halim 0 Report post Posted July 26, 2014 it best shows that we stood up for our national pride in thick and thin and those who lost in this terrible disaster are our national heroes same like our athletes
Newitt 0 Report post Posted July 26, 2014 It was all good until a certain athlete decided to wear gloves bearing some statement and got admonished, albeit with good intentions, it still went against the sporting spirit. I'd say that kinda negated the uniform display at the opening a little bit.

Johan Z 0 Report post Posted July 26, 2014 I don't care if it will get some attention to increase the awareness of the ordeal. It happened in the past and certainly people will remember the athletes for the courage. Most of the athletes are aware of the repercussion. For example, Cathy Freeman waving both Aboriginal and Australian flags during 1994 Commonwealth Games. Until today, people remember it and champion her for it. Malaysian politician and religious leaders: It is disrespectful to use the Scottish Terrier to lead the contingent in the opening ceremony because we are a Muslim country. The Scottish in general: It is disrespectful for Malaysia to say such a thing to our national heritage, culture and most beloved animal. The breed is called Scottish Terrier and you are in Scotland. Muslims in Scotland: Is it an issue? Bangladesh & Pakistan: We have more Muslims than any of Malaysia combined but we have no issues. Alas, it is all about freedom of speech and how tolerant we are towards each other. Personally I don't think it is an issue at all because we do have dogs living in Malaysia.
