Not a fan but say what you want, she has tons of money and an obvious business sense :nea:

Yes she has tons of money but she would end up with only a few kilos of money.

When TF bought over AK with 2 jets with zero background in aviation business, many said in no time he would be running with only his boxer on.

Likewise, when RK was looking for a partner to run OD, many also said he was committing suicide.

She could be a woman who only sold beauty products but she wouldn't be where she is right now unless she must have done something right.

I would like to give her a chance to prove herself in creating possibilities just like everyone else. All the best .....

Yes indeed. Someone posted their first B734 in full colour on FB. Didn't manage to save the photo. My rough guess it is ex-MH, behind looks like SZB. Someone working at SZB may be able to confirm with us.

Suasa will not be a scheduled carrier but a charter airline instead.

What make is so easy to run an airline in Malaysia that even a cosmetic saleswoman wanted in?

Perhaps some secret inside recipe that only a few privileged will know about that makes it feasible to run an airline even with just two leased planes.

Looks like the lady is too ambitious. Perhaps she should fulfill her commitment to Kelantan FA by paying their players salary first before thinking of investing in a broke airline company. She seems to desperately want attention.

Those high profile personnel often have profile bigger than their ability or capability.

Rayani Air in danger of losing Air Service License

PETALING JAYA: Troubled Shariah-compliant airline, Rayani Air may lose its Air Service License (ASL), the Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) has revealed.
In a statement, Mavcom said it had issued Rayani Air with a show cause letter following an evaluation of the airline’s commercial standing and capabilities to continue as an ASL holder.
The evaluation was carried out following the provisional suspension of the airline’s Air Operator Certificate (AOC) by the Department of Civil Aviation in April.
“Rayani Air is required to submit its representation in writing within 14 days to Mavcom before Mavcom decides on whether Rayani Air should be allowed to continue to hold the ASL or whether it should be revoked, or suspended,” read the statement.
Mavcom said Rayani Air needs both an ASL and an AOC to operate a passenger and cargo airline business. Should the ASL be revoked, Rayani Air will no longer be allowed to provide air transport services commercially in Malaysia.
In the meantime, the commission advised consumers to refrain from making any flight arrangements with Rayani Air to avoid inconvenience.
Mavcom will also work with relevant parties to assist passengers that have been affected.
The issuance, suspension and revocation of an ASL came under Mavcom’s scope when it was established on March 1, 2016.
On April 11, DCA suspended Rayani Air’s operations certificate for three months after the airline halted operations following a pilot strike that left dozens of passengers stranded.
Rayani Air is Malaysia’s first shariah-compliant airline, featuring tudung-clad female flight attendants.

Aviation Commission revokes Rayani Air’s licence

The Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) today revoked Rayani Air’s Air Service Licence (ASL).

In a statement today, the commission found that Rayani Air had breached the conditions of its ASL and lacked the financial and management capacity to continue operating as a commercial airline.

“As a consequence, Rayani Air can no longer operate as a commercial airline with effect from today,” the commission said in the statement.

Mavcom issued a show-cause letter to Rayani Air on May 25 after evaluating the airline’s commercial standing and capabilities to determine its ability to continue as an ASL holder.

In the show-cause letter, the commission required the airline to submit its representation in writing within 14 days before it decided whether Rayani Air should be allowed to continue to hold the ASL or whether it should be revoked, or suspended.

“Rayani Air submitted its representation in writing to Mavcom on the last day of the stipulated time.

“After reviewing Rayani Air’s written representation, Mavcom has decided to revoke the ASL as the representations made by Rayani Air are not satisfactory responses to the show-cause letter dated May 25,” it said.

The commission said customers can seek a refund from Rayani Air.

“Customers who have purchased tickets with Rayani Air but were not able to go on their journey may lodge a complaint with the company and seek a refund.

"In the event consumers are not able to obtain their refunds, consumers can file a civil suit for those refunds.

“Alternatively, affected consumers may lodge a formal complaint with the commission, who can hear and determine the complaint, with a view of protecting legitimate consumer interests.

“The commission may apply for its decision to be registered as a judgment of the Malaysian High Court,” it added further.

The commission’s executive chairperson, Abdullah Ahmad, said this episode served as a reminder that operating a scheduled commercial airline was challenging and required great planning, financial depth, operational know-how and execution capability.

“This is especially so considering the highly competitive environment under which today’s airlines operate.

“Strong commercial foundations and depth are therefore necessary prerequisites to be a player in this industry. The commission shall strive to ensure only enterprises that are equipped and ready will be allowed to participate,” said Abdullah.

It was previously reported that the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) had suspended the five-month old airline for three months following a pilot strike that grounded its operations.

We at MWings have discussed Rayani Air for about two years.

R.I.P. and save us all further embarrassment. This should be a lesson for all those people with limited resources - running an airline is no simple matter. Many individuals and governments have tried and failed...

The folks who approved the airline need to take relook at their SOPs when qualifying newbies in the aviation industry.

Last reported in the media, the defunct airline still owes its ex-staffs salaries. And yet, it said it wants another chance at it but under new management.
