Sharil Abdul Rahman 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2015 Man, i wished that they have gone the proper repaint rather than just a decal treatment. Its kind of glaring to see the hull where obvious paint-overs can be spotted in bright sunlight. However it is GREAT that we get to use the smarties again! Thanks Nabiel for the short TR. Nabiel Haniff 1 Report post Posted December 20, 2015 Thanks for the TR, rather interesting to see they offer better refreshments than any other airlines. BTW what sort of snacks did they offer for sale? Mix nut, coffee or tea or juice. since there was no menu card in the seat pocket. If u pax want to make a purchase, they will stop and give the menu card for reference. Man, i wished that they have gone the proper repaint rather than just a decal treatment. They really need fully new paint. Not just "cut" and paste. They should also change their livery style. With this current livery, the aircraft looks dull and not really attract people. Need to put different styles of stripe, font, logo and etc

Unless this is just the first of many leased planes and they just need a machine to work now. This airline should be based in Melaka since they launched it.....just wonder why it's now based in Langkawi Maybe they are following AirAsia's footsteps who is now making LGK a hub? Mulyadir Fitri 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2015 (edited) The owners are Indians,Ravi and Karthiyani. Hence then name, Rayani. They saw an opportunity and potential in a syariah compliant business, which can command a substantial market share here. Nothing to do with religion. A pure business decision. Some people just cannot see that. Edited December 21, 2015 by Mulyadir Fitri

Here in Malaysia, we can turn an issue that has nothing to do with religion into one that does! Agreed with you. Rather than talking nonsense such as MH cabin crew uniform, why didn't support for this one. Since it's a fresh new starter company, there's many of improvement can be done in coming years. We can't compared them with Malindo air which belongs to Lion group . Just wishing a better livery. kinda remind me of MH.

JuliusWong 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2015 Rayani Air sets 10-year plan LANGKAWI: Rayani Air, the first syariah-compliant airline in Malaysia, is setting a 10-year target to establish a network to capitalise on the umrah and haj pilgrimage market, said managing director Jaafar Zamhari. For a start, the airline, which just received approval from the Civil Aviation Department to begin operations, is taking “small steps” to fulfil the requirements set under Islamic law in their operations before executing more plans within the next few years. “We will continue to work together with the authorities towards refining our steps from time to time but our ultimate intention will be to capitalise on the (umrah and haj) markets,” he told reporters after arriving on Rayani Air’s maiden flight from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi International Airport. Jaafar said Rayani Air had acquired two Boeing 737-400s aircraft at this initial stage to serve KLIA2 in Kuala Lumpur and Kota Bharu (Kelantan) with LIA as their operation hub, before including Kuching and Kota Kinabalu next year. “It is our hope that the decision to make Langkawi our operation’s hub will turn Langkawi into a hub for tourism where travellers would come here first before being channelled to other tourism destinations in the country,” he said. The airline also plans to add two more Boeing 737-400s and two 737-800s to its fleet by 2017 as a move to increase its domestic routes and flight frequencies. — Bernama Source: http://www.thestar.com.my/business/business-news/2015/12/21/rayani-air-sets-10year-plan/?style=biz
