Now that fuel prices have plunged, they have a reasonable chance of success. But choosing Langkawi as their first route might not be optimum in terms of passenger demand. It is probably more lucrative to fly to Phuket or Bali.

I met the ground service manager Mr. Mohd Hadi(Rayani Air representative) who attended the hash event in Melaka. They will start with 2 B737-400 (Retired MH 737) and commence flight in March 2015.

In March 2015? Yup, rumours they will using previous MH's B734. I believe it's depends to how fast they will get an ASL to qualified scheduled flight operators by the MOT.

Rayani Air ashik promosi "coming soon" pah ceroh

"Coming soon" pah ceroh!

Secara ringkasnya, antara laluan "coming soon" Rayani Air ialah (1) Melaka - Kota Kinabalu; (2) Melaka - Kuching; (3) Melaka - Kota Bharu; (4) Melaka - Pulau Pinang; (5) Melaka - Langkawi; (6) Melaka - Kuantan; (7) Melaka - Kuala Terengganu; ( 8) Melaka - Alor Setar; (9) Pulau Langkawi - Pulau Pinang; (10) Pulau Langkawi - Kota Kinabalu; (11) Pulau Langkawi - Johor Bahru; (12) Pulau Langkawi - Kota Bharu; (13) Pulau Langkawi - Kuching; (14) Pulau Langkawi - Pekanbaru; (15) Pulau Langkawi - Medan; (16) Pulau Langkawi - Phuket; (17) Pulau Langkawi - Bandung; (18) Pulau Langkawi - Kuantan; (19) Pulau Langkawi - Kuala Terengganu; (20) Kota Bharu - Alor Setar; (21) Kota Bharu - Johor Bahru; (22) Kota Bharu - Ipoh; (23) Kota Bharu - Kuching; (24) Kota bharu - Bandung; dan (25) Kota Bharu - Singapura.

So... what's the latest on this one? I see on their FB page they do a lot of good charity kebajikan work (bagus.. pahala banyak) ... but maybe company name Rayani AIR isn't so suitable....

It's not an airline... from what i can see ....

Rayaniair is a joke. They kept stating their ex-MH B734 is being refurbished, until today it doesn't see any day light.

At least YOU Wings did fly. With inflight magazine, and a functional booking engine (a bit cacat)......

With that sort of track record, maybe they can change marketing tagline to - Layani lah HOT AIR

Guess it has proved more difficult than anticipated to get the hard cold cash flowing in nowadays

See the politicians are meddling again. If this airline takes off, it will crash soon after. Too much political interference...

Looks like the airline will be launched pretty soon. IATA code 'RK' was last used by Royal Khmer Airlines that ceased operation in year 2007.

Their new logo looks a lot like PLUS Highway's...shades of royal blue and green....;

Yeap thats very true. Expected plan is to start with 2 B737-400. Sometime end of october/early november.

To be honest, I work with the B737-400 that destined for the RayaniAir. They actually are still in refurbishing progress. To the matter of fact, it is Mas who causes the problem. After the workforce cut down, they lack of engineers that can actually make the aircraft airworthy. So give this new airline a good perspective. Like an old saying, the fall of a monster is the rise of few little monster. We see FlyMojo, Rayani and few more to come rises from this fall down of Mas. It is actually very good for our Aviation industry and also for us, logically, more airline, more competition, more competition, more discounts. I know some people compare same scenario as AirAsia first came into service and beat Mas down, but that was because Mas sat in the comfort zone for too much and forgot to strengthen their base in this country. So let's be a lil positive, delay is not caused by the airline. Think of ANA on 787 commencing into service delay when you think its an airline fault when there's delay. Sorry for the long expression. This is just opinion and anyone who think this is wrong, do let me know. Pardon grammar error too. ;(

Thanks for giving us an insiders view point. I agree with you it's good for the industry to see more players arise and make an effort. To me that's healthy.

I'm glad to hear the airline is in progress and one day will fly. I think to a certain extent the negativity you sense may arise from the fact that the flying public is skeptical. I don't want to sound overly harsh but it stems from the Rayani PR/media machine.

It is doing some good things like charity work, not to take anything away from it, but those activities do not convince the public that there are planes ready to fly. When it comes to airlines, where confidence in the service is king, maybe a different PR approach would work better. (engineering tours, documentary, interviews with staff etc)

Sound like mh is thawing the launch of this airline else mh's 737s are not airworthiness.

It would seem they are at complete beg and mercy of MAS engineering, description of which above is less than impressive. So, maybe scrub the hangar visit off the PR trail for now ?! :D

Better than nothing mah. Right now nobody believes it's even a proper airline to begin with :)

is there any cadet pilot recruitment for RayaniAir ?? Just asking

Don't think so. Plenty of CPL holders out there looking for a job so they should've have difficulties finding pilots. From what I heard, first batch of pilots are doing their type rating course now.
