KUL 33 in 2014

The opening of klia2 has made plane spotting at WMKK/KUL a little more complicated. You can't be certain which runway your target aircraft will arrive at - so judicious use of FR24 and shuttling between 32L and 33 may be an activity that many may have to engage in.

 

Runway 33 may be new but unless you do not have a collection of LCC aircraft, spotting here might be a little boring - lack of variety. You will only get A320s and D7 A330s plus a sprinkling of B739s and A340s. It seems that D7 are re-activating their A340s for some of the shorter flights like KUL-TPE and KUL-PER.

I note that Airasia X has recently been deploying its A343, 9M-XAB, on the KUL-TPE (Flight D7 376) run.

 

Those who want to catch this plane (departure time 5.45 pm) departing from runway 33 can do so from Jalan Pekeliling, near the Tune Hotel klia2.

Today around 6PM, RWY 15 is in use. There is departures & arrival on RWY 14R and RWY 15. I must say, parallel activities look good.

Still running like this - could be due change in wind direction.

Today, the active runways are still 14L, 14R and 15.

 

The airways still look chaotic but I guess the DCA may be trying things out after they have some data from the initial two weeks of parallel approach ops at the other end.
