MAS B772 9M-MRO Flight MH370 KUL-PEK Missing with All 239 POB Presumed Killed

Recommended Posts

It has been reported that barnacles on the flaperon were being studied to gauge how long the part had been in the sea.

Why is that even necessary ?

The date is already conclusive, studying barnacles growth isn't going to narrow it down to the hour

"Malaysia is convinced that the flaperon found in the Reunion Island belongs to Malaysia Airlines (MAS) Flight MH370, after its team of experts confirmed a maintenance seal on the plane's part matches MAS' records."

What is a maintainence seal?

Probably trying to pin point the rough location of the main wreckage?

No, it's DCA/FAA/EASA's fault for not mandating GPS tracking. It's also Boeing's fault because they didn't make GPS tracking standard equipment, as well as Inmarsat for profiteering off a lifesaving feature.

What I'm basically saying is that it's NOBODY'S fault. Nobody ever envisioned a loss scenario like MH370 so playing the finger pointing game is callous & arrogant.

Besides, the GPS tracker is not the system's main function - it's maintenance reporting. Something that MAS felt to be redundant. It's only AFTER MH370 did the secondary function was brought to light.

Going by this logic, I am sure in any accident nobody is at fault because humans are not 'built' or 'engineered' to handle and overcome emergency situation. Reports should not blame anyone but be neutral.

Of course this kind of event is a chain of mistakes by many party. However, MAS' failure to subscribe to the tracking has created a lot of trouble and cost a bomb for everyone, which is true. Other airlines like Cathay Pacific has subscribed to the service. Although the intention may not be tracking the aircraft but surely it will narrow down the search area. My intention is not to blame on MAS but I hope this will force the manufacturer to make this a standard feature and improve upon to make flying safe

Apparently the Chinese relatives are demanding to travel to Reunion island to see the 'wreckage'. How ridiculous... the item is now in Paris. So they are demanding round the world tour before you know it.

So many experts each with their "I really think this is what happened" theories...

If it went down intact with only bits of it came off, it was an incredible chance the flaperon came ashore and was discovered.

It is an extremely emotional ride for the NOKs. Wondered what other new news will appear from the experts since any new findings on the beach is slowly diminishing.

Suddenly after French defence minister's visit that it has been confirmed? Rafael, Mistral talks?

Molins' office said that experts using an endoscope found three series of numbers inside the flaperon. It appeared, the office said, that the numbers could correspond to a Boeing subcontractor, Airbus Defense and Space in Seville, Spain.

On Thursday, investigators went to Seville and formally linked "one of the three (series of numbers) collected inside the flaperon to the serial number of the Boeing 777 of flight MH370," Molins' office said.

Not everything have to be political.

On another note what I find to be (for a lack of a better word) funny is the fact that there are parts made by Airbus on a Boeing plane!

They denied there were talks about the Mistrals. But Rafale talks did take place. But I recall reading somewhere that Malaysia is one of the top candidates to take their Mistral ships due to the overlapping claims we have at the South China Sea.

Pilot spots large object off Reunion, aviation authorities say

By Jason Hanna and Margot Haddad, CNN

Updated 0542 GMT (1242 HKT) September 16, 2015 | Video Source: CNN

Nearly two months after debris from the vanished Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 washed up on Reunion Island, a large object reportedly floating off the island has piqued the interest of French officials there.

An Air France pilot reported seeing "a white object" floating in the Indian Ocean on Tuesday morning about 70 kilometers (43 miles) northwest of the French island, said Siva Vadivelou, assistant director of the French Civil Aviation Authority on Reunion.

The Air France flight was at an altitude of 3,000 meters, or about 9,800 feet, the office of the island's prefect said. Because of the altitude, "it must be a voluminous object for the pilot to see it," Vadivelou said.

Authorities diverted a merchant ship to the area and flew an aircraft over it at low altitude, but nothing was found Tuesday, according to the prefect's office.
