2014 Aircraft Deliveries to MAS Group, AirAsia Group & Malindo

Recommended Posts

how many 738 MAS have in their current fleet?

54 in fleet now with two more on order (9M-MXW and 9M-MXX).

Leased birds are starting to leave the fleet: 9M-FFA went to Sunwing of Canada and 9M-FFC to Turkey's SunExpress. 9M-FFB is now stored.

IMO, Malaysia Airlines may also consider retiring 9M-FFD to 9M-FFF and 9M-MLD to 9M-MLI as these 9 birds have 16J/150Y configuration. Others have 16J/144Y configuration.

Agreed.

Others have 16J/144Y configuration.

They should also consider getting rid of the LCC seat pitch in Coach!

Venezuela's Conviasa begins leasing an AirAsia X A340-300

Hope D7 collected the leasing fees up front!

Yup, been enjoying the photos of some of the cabin crews who were selected to be based in Venezuela (most of whom are the same set of crew who were based in Jeddah before for the haj charter). Their last photos are about the outing in Madrid.

Confirmation from Jim. http://airlineroute.net/2014/08/27/cxmh-codeshare-sep14update2/

Aircraft and crew to do only MAD and EZE.

Malaysia Airlines has no more new jets to be delivered. Now we shall wait for B777 retirement.

AirAsia is still receiving on average one A320 every month till end of the decade. At the same time, they are retiring ex-Zest Air plane and lease out older jet.

AirAsia X is taking delivery of A330 but has slowed down considerably due to poor Q1 and Q2.

As far as I know, D7 has not postponed any 2014 deliveries. So far it has received five aircraft and there are another two more before the end of the year.

See Q2 2014 presentation here: http://airasiax.listedcompany.com/misc/qr/presentation_slide_2Q2014.pdf

Zest Air is scheduled to return its leased aircraft (those IAE V2500 engined planes) during the coming months and should end the year with only 11 aircraft in the fleet.

It seems that Airasia has transferred 9M-AJF to Airasia India.

RM 142,888,400 for a 12 year lease - that is RM 992,281 per month. And it excludes maintenance....

So the aircraft costs around US$ 45m for a 12 year lease. That would be pretty much what it costs to buy from Airbus.

Interesting - first time we are seeing an aircraft lease transaction reported in such detail on Bursa Malaysia.

I must say seems like D7 is pretty good in this aircraft leasing business.
