SS Lee 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2014 WOW! Great shots. Went spotting on Malaysia Day. Spent about 4 hours there at both the departure and the arrival areas. IMG_6294 by sslee86, on Flickr Dragonair A330-343 (B-HYI) IMG_6315 by sslee86, on Flickr Thai Airways B737-4D7 (HS-TDG) - Hoping to catch their A330s in Penang one day. Saw quite a few ATRs of Malindo and Firefly flying past, but at that height and without great lighting, they look quite dull and blurry. IMG_6398 by sslee86, on Flickr MAS B737-8H6 (9M-MXG) - Managed to get it just right where the fence does not obstruct any part of the plane. IMG_6415 by sslee86, on Flickr AirAsia A320 (9M-AJB) IMG_6496 by sslee86, on Flickr MXG departing some 50 minutes later. Now why did they have to cut off the tips of the WAU. IMG_6510 by sslee86, on Flickr Malindo Air ATR72-600 (9M-LMF) IMG_6539 by sslee86, on Flickr FedEx MD-11F (N614FE) - My main catch of the day sits by the terminal, covered by jet exhaust Will try to upload more shots within the next few days. SS Lee 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2014 I also saw an ATR72 with no RH gear door back in mid-April. That was FYH. Should be normal to them in that case, as about a year back, -FYA was also seen like that. May i know where's the best location for taking photographs? Thanks You could try Jalan Permatang Damar Laut of Jalan Bayan Lepas near the OryzAdv (Road Name and landmark from Google Earth) for arrivals and departures respectively. MIR 2 Report post Posted October 26, 2014 (edited) Thanks. Was sweating away, but well worth it. Any hints on the ETA at Penang? SXI1422 is currently over the Bay of Bengal. This delivery flight made its previous stop in Hyderabad instead of the usual, Nagpur. So, its either to Penang or Seletar this afternoon. Check FR24 in 3-4 hours time.
