XJ412 Whirlwind request

Recommended Posts

Dear all,

I am Frank Mink from The Netherlands.

A fellow enthusiast has risen the question where the crash site of XJ412 is.

On 5 November 1966 Whirlwind Xj412 of 110Sqn lost tail rotor control and crashed on the Bukit Tinkar.

Is XJ412 still on that location and in what condition?

Being aware it is a spotter photo section of the forum I do hope the question can be answered.

Regards,

Frank Mink

I can't help answer your question but I have the following note in my list of losses in Malaysia "sank into ground and abandoned as inaccessible" so it sounds as if the airframe may have been left at the crash site.

Nothing on XJ412 on the Malaya Historical Group website but it may be worth contacting these guys to see if they have any information.
