Pretty scary and fortunate for the ppl on board, for this could've been another IR655.

What have become of the region? Sarin gas, mass executions, and now missiles shot at a civilian aircraft. But then, all these are not proven, yet as both sides blamed each others of the treacherous acts. Now with the latest episode of ground to air missiles launch, are the rebel or the pro-Syrian government that are responsible? Or the Hez who are brought in by the Assad to hedge a guerilla warfare with the rebels?

 

Nevertheless, I guess by now all civilian aircrafts are to keep away from Syrian airspace for the time being.
