Was really excited when I caught a glimpse of the extra engines on the wing while it was rolling down the runway. From all the time I've been spotting, CX only operates 330s or 777s in/out of Penang.

Somehow the "new" livery for Sriwijaya is not as exciting as the old one. :(

That isn't the new livery for sriwijaya. Instead that will be the livery of its new full service carrier Nam Air.

Thanks flee, peter. I gotta try my luck some other time to get that CX 744.

I myself too was surprised when I saw the Sriwijaya Livery. This is the third "version" that I have seen, and the first time on a 737-500.

Hi Raymund, I got two, 9V-SLQ and 9V-SLR. I presume you were in SLQ as Sriwijaya Departed before SLR arrived.

Here's both of them

There's news that Dragon Air will launch daily flights to Penang next year using A333. Probably CX will say good bye to Penang. Then lesser chance for us to see the CX 747-400 pax version landing here.

Gosh, all the more reason for me to go and catch the CX 744.

Anyway, manage to catch it using a point and shoot. Please excuse the quality.

Apparently it is coming in again later at approx 7pm-ish.

So which means there is a good opportunity to catch that 744 tomorrow at about 750AM (CX692).

Will not be able to get it tomorrow. Hope it comes again during the weekends.

Just my luck perhaps? The day I went for spotting was the day they used a 773. Not complaining though as I've never caught a 777 departing before

Very heavy rain and strong winds at PEN. Wonder whether it was the cause of this go around??

Ended up landing on runway 22 instead of runway 04.
