MIR 2 Report post Posted June 5, 2013 Thank you for the info on C-40B Any idea when will she depart? Rumoured later today or tomorrow morning but no info on timing. I've asked around, will post it here if i find out. This same C-40B comes to Subang every year after the Shangri-La Dialogue. http://www.flickr.com/photos/us-pacific-command/8952104148/in/photostream/ Apart from that, aircraft carrier USS Nimitz travelled from West Pacific and passed through Straits of Melaka last week but I'm surprised there are still no Greyhounds making COD flights to SZB or BKI this year. TK 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2013 Thanks MIR. Pass through SZB this morning, no activity around the aircraft. Probably after my jog tomorrow morning, i'll drop by SZB
MIR 2 Report post Posted June 5, 2013 USS Blue Ridge is currently in Port Klang. It carries two nice Warlords helicopters onboard, SH-60F (164446 & 164081). Would be nice if the helicopter visits Subang before the ship leaves.

Branden Ng 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2013 just wondering, were u guys using 400mm for those shots? for my self, i am using 24-105 with a 2x teleplus, which made my 105mm became 210mm. but the effect not too good
flee 5 Report post Posted June 6, 2013 If you are using a full frame sensor, it is definitely not enough. If using APS-C camera, a 70-200 or 70-300 is usually sufficient for SZB. The 24-105 will be useful for widebodies. I usually avoid teleconverters that are greater than 1.4X magnification.
mdsaleh 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2013 (edited) Hi Branden..,Something to share with..I'm using both 18-105mm and 70-200mm VRII,as mentioned by Flee,18-105mm really useful when aircraft bigger than 737 taxy close infront of you and I change to 70-200mm when the 737 line up for take off.Normally decision to use what type of lens depend on spotting location. At "Blue pipe" Subang and along the taxyway 18-105mm lens very useful, other locations I would use my VRII,Thanks a lot to Sifu Norman and TK for their guide on how to use Photoshop.. 18-105mm.. 70-200mm Edited June 7, 2013 by mdsaleh
