MAS Privatisation

Recommended Posts

So many think tanks, saying this and that, at the end of the day, government who hardly think makes the decision. That's why we are still subsidising our national carrier to this day and many more years to come, without any sound solution.

They can get QR's Al Baker in for that matters, but with government meddling almost every other days, he will most probably give up......in the end.

"And importantly, the key to turning around MAS is getting the stakeholders on your side i.e. the workers, unions, government, suppliers and all those in MAS' eco-system," said Chin, who is a member of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's Consultation and Prevention advisory panel."

Excuse me Datuk Chin, what about Customers?

Excuse me Datuk Chin, what about Customers?

Haven't they done that for many years? Pleasing everyone to the point of near catastrophe?

In reality they can't please everyone ... best for them to focus on bringing the blue numbers back.

A bit surprising with that statement coming out of the mouth of a member of the Anti-Corruption Commission, as it could be misread easily....

Dr Hugh Dunleavy, Director of Commercial of MAS is leaving..............

Until a suitable candidate is selected to replace, CM will take over the post.

http://www.therakyatpost.com/business/2015/05/12/another-mas-chief-leaving/

Good grief, 5999 more to go.....

Good guy, could have made it work if the govt had been more serious in 2012 and had not faffed about with MASEU back then.

You will be missed Doc.

Latest leak by my spies at the MH Rumour Department:

MH will reduce B738 service to selected domestic and ASEAN destinations from 1-7 June 2015. As a result some of the services to BKK, CGK, SIN, HKT, PEN, BKI, KCH and LGK will be operated (upgraded) by B772 and A333 throughout the period.

Good news for local spotters.

Wish we can see one day MH deploying A380 on domestic route. My brother recently did Guangzhou-Beijing with CZ A380. Boarding was very swiftly done even though the flight was packed to the brim.

F & B were distributed efficiently and effectively as well.

Quick search shows the flights are already in the system. 772 operates one of the morning flights to KCH. But no luck scoring a cheap joyride. That is super peak period

They should send the A380 to KCH, we're surprisingly A380-ready in terms of runway length.

Azizul, do you have any info from your rumours department that is there a high percentage that the aircraft will be swap?

Need that info if you have as I'm gonna book a flight just to fly on their 777.

Cheers!

What's going on with the 737s that week? Seems like the are consolidating flights (e.g. BKK went from 7 to 4 a day during that week with 2 737s consolidating into 1 777). Also some HKG 737s flights are canceled (from 4 daily to twice daily). Normal schedule the week before and after May 30 to June 6.

Per the spies at the MH Rumour Department, the aircraft will be swapped on the fights that are listed. The percentage is 100%. The flights are now can be booked on MH's website.

I am aso wondering about that. just an assumption, maybe plan to reduce B738 numbers by selling them or sell and lease back?

But good to see widebodies coming to BKI. I think the school holidays is also a factor for the equipments switch.

Clearly this has nothing to do with school holidays but rather the change over from Malaysian Airline System Bhd to Malaysia Airlines Bhd, prob staffing issues during the transition period.
