Noticed that too. Tax is at RM15 ex SIN. It should be RM100 thereabouts
Suzanne Goh 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2014 Wah not so good timing (if you're connecting to or from some other flights in SIN on separate tickets) or if you want a full full work day in Singapore.
Mr.Bandit 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2014 If you looks closely, ex SIN doesnt include airport tax, just RM15 for admin taxes. or Changi is implementing departure tax just like Indo airport, huh? I bet on the night time, their 739 flies to India and Bangladesh. Aircraft utilization in the day time, maybe?
Holger 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2014 (edited) AA as in Air Asia or American Airlines? For the record the IATA(?) code for Air Asia Malaysia is AK. Geoff R. 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2014 Malindo web booking system seems to have a lot of problems. I have given up trying to book flights on two occasions and booked on Firefly and AirAsia. They really need to get their web booking system working properly as for sure they are loosing business not just when people can't get it to work but next time customers go straight to AK, FY, MH etc Geoff
Lim Kar Yong 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2014 Finally manged to book Malindo flights to Singapore return at RM215 all in. Not that cheap but considering the free 20kg check in luggage, it is almost comparable to Air Asia. I also noticed from the itinerary confirmation, the aircraft used on this route will be B737-800. Is this a new or leased plane? I thought Malindo only operates B737-900 from KLIA 2? Can anyone confirm this?

The fare still remains at RM215 for the last couple of days.Holding on and hope it will go down when Malindo needs to fill up the planes . Jetstar fares are slight cheaper but the bad thing about Jetstar is if one pax buys check in luggage, all pax booked together needs to buy, no option of only one buys

Holger 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2014 Malindo Air introducing 3x weekly flight on Subang-Ipoh route effectively on/from 3 Oct 2014 on board ATR72-600. I guess KNO is the next unannounced destination as it's seen in booking engine. Looks like: Johor Bahru to Ipoh from 17.10 4 times weekly Medan to Ipoh from 17.10 4 times weekly

flee 5 Report post Posted October 7, 2014 looks like an aggressive expansion and they are tapping on routes which are currently not served by other airlines..good for them This year, Malindo's focus is on their turboprop ops. They did not take delivery of any new B739s but added five ATRs to their fleet bring the total number of ATRs to ten aircraft.

Geoff R. 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2014 Thats not right....the fleet of 737 grows from 6 to 8! Malindo hasn't taken delivery of any 737s this year but have taken delivery of five ATR72s. They only have 6 737-9s but should take delivery of a 737-8 later this month. flee 5 Report post Posted October 7, 2014 Thats not right....the fleet of 737 grows from 6 to 8! As far as I am aware, their current fleet is six B739s. The reggos are: 9M-LNF 9M-LNG 9M-LNH 9M-LNJ 9M-LNK 9M-LNL Their next aircraft, 9M-LNM, will be a Boeing 738 - MSN 39826 / LN 5122. This aircraft first flew on 5 Oct 2014 and should be delivered soon. Lim Kar Yong 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2014 So looks like the 738 will be used for the new KUL-SIN route. No wonder I was a bit puzzled when I saw that the equipment used for the route will be 738 in my itinerary.
Amirul Mazlan 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2014 I think SZB operation will likely hit saturation point at 15 aircrafts with routes mostly covered. The remaining we'll see is how FY and OD develop other hubs like PEN JHB KBR with maybe, the max is around another 10 aircraft for each of them.
