flee 5 Report post Posted June 7, 2012 Singapore Airlines will introduce a fourth daily flight between Singapore and London Heathrow from October, providing enhanced travel options to our customers. SIA currently operates three flights per day between Singapore and London Heathrow, all with Airbus A380s. The additional flight, which will have a late-night departure from Singapore, will be operated with a Boeing 777-300ER, also featuring the Airline’s latest cabin products. The increase in frequency will be carried out progressively, starting the week of 9 September when the number of flights per week will rise to 25 from 21. The full complement of 28 flights per week will take effect from the week of 21 October. “We have been looking for opportunities to increase our London flights for many years and are pleased that we can now do so, to provide even more travel options to our customers,” said Singapore Airlines’ Executive Vice President Commercial, Mr Mak Swee Wah. “Not only are London and Singapore popular destinations in their own right, the additional flights will allow for more convenient connections beyond London to other points in Europe, and beyond Singapore to other points within Asia and South West Pacific.” Source: SIA

H C Chai 4 Report post Posted June 7, 2012 That's really good news. The load must be pretty healthy then? Since they just upgraded SQ308/319 from B77W to A380 this month. Looks like LHR will be seeing the B77W again!
Isaac 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2012 Didn't BA sell a few of BMI's slots as well ? Anyway, it is almost a certain thing that the new midnight flight departing from SIN will eventually to be operated with an 388, with one of the daytime flights from SIN to LHR currently operated by the 388 change to 77W. flee 5 Report post Posted June 8, 2012 Well if MH does need a third slot again, it may not be a bad thing to fly from LGW. LHR is so congested that it would be next to impossible to get a time slot that most pax would like to travel on. Anyway, its still academic unless MH's 2X LHR flights fill up all year round.
