MH 747, 777 and new livery

Recommended Posts

Whats the delay in applying the new scheme on 747? hope MH are not waiting to recieve A380 before that happens, oddly they partially painted new livery on the Hajj 747 but for some odd reason didnt add new swooshes to it, why?

P.S there should be a seprate forum for Malaysian aviation in here.

MH only painted their new aircraft like the new A330 and new 738 in the new livery. The 747 Hajj livery is for the Hajj

But Hajj flights ended in December, by now that 747 should hace recieved tail logo and swooshes.

It will not be repainted if it is not going to service the normal MH schedules. Why bother spending to (re)paint it?

You will find that MH will no longer operate any passenger B747-400 aircraft by early next year. The A380 will have replaced the whole fleet. So why waste money repainting the planes only to use them for a few months? The Tabung Haji liveried plane may have been repainted because MAS Charters might still be operating it for some time to come.

Even if it is to be repainted, not likely it will receive the Filipino touch (swooshes as you call it) but rather the old chealined version

Precedence already there in the ex-FY examples :)

That is ridiculous, the Hajj aircraft recieved an all white fuselage and engines plus new full malaysiaairlines title, and now it may be repainted in old cheatline livery with grey belly and engines if its still operating, does not make sense at all, ok I understand that the other aircraft do not need repainting if they are not going through any major checks that would require stripping the paint, but if the Hajj one is to still to fly they should consider applying the swooshes to it rather than have it in the not so new MASkargo new look, again only if its to remain the fleet and is not stored.

It's a moot point - the swoosh is on the way out anyway!

9M-MPQ (cant remember the exact rego) is now basically a big ship with mostly economy class seats. Unless they are going to lease it to D7, the economics is going to be skewed if used in daily OPs.

As someone here once said - its cheaper (or sometimes free!) to let them idle than to fly them around - the 744s are not exactly fuel efficient.

Bear in mind too the ultra ambitious new start up - Eaglexpress ;)

They did say they will mop up a few of the MH/PMB 744's :D

D7 744 would be great, as for swoosh I meant the new swooshes not the SQ style one being phased out, so the Hajj 747 is now for that purpose only and no new livery for 747s.

I think Mohd Suhaimi Fariz has the answer ... even as some of us are still trying to come to terms with the "swoosh", it is already almost history. There is very definite talk in reliable quarters of a new new livery which draws inspiration from the "Heliconia" livery.

And I cannot wait to see this ... keep your eyes trained on the paint-shop in Finkenwerder!

(Same post as in another thread)

Hey guys, I saw a preview of the new livery.

The new livery comprises of upsized, bold malaysiairlines in navy blue near L1 door, with the wau bulan in complete navy blue at tail. The cheatlines are gone, replaced with two strokes of wavy-like ala CX's white paint-brush stroke, but inverted.. MH's two strokes of waves covers the back of plane like a ribbon wrapping around it.....

I honestly hope this design is not the finalised....I maybe wrong.....

My thoughts - never.

They're on the way out.

Hahahaha!

With MH, we should never say never! Who knows, the management may change its mind again! ;)

My thought after reading the topic.

That aside the heliconia-themed livery would look quite good on these 777s IMO.

Lol, hahas!! What a short lived joy! Back to the topic, another B772 is on the way out. All decals have been stripped except for cheatlines, now at KLIA hangar. Ready to be retired. Now MAS has only 15 B772ER in operation.
