A Fokker 50 (OO-VLV) desitned for Alliance Airlines is currently on its way from Netherlands to Australia and might make a night stop/fuel stop in Penang in the next few days. Callsign:SXI1252. LaurieB 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2012 (edited) Thanks to Mir for the heads-up. I went down to the airport to try and catch Virgin's ATR 72-600. Hoped it would be parked in the area normally used by the Firefly ATRs. No sign of it. Drove to the road under the Rwy 04 approach and looked towards the terminal but still could not see it.. Finally drove over to the cargo area and spotted it parked close to the southern end of the terminal, near the MAS Cargo area. Pretty near impossible to get a decent photo of it there. Got a shot taken through two wire fences and with a lot of heat haze. Apologies for the quality which is not good at all! This was taken with a 70 - 300mm lens at full stretch and heavily cropped. 20120911-IMG_8687 by Janner88, on Flickr Then drove to the bus stop to try and get a shot of its departure. Could not get in there as there were a lot of vehicles parked there already so went to the small river area. That is not good for photo taking now because of the double fence that has been built there. When the Virgin ATR took-off, it was climbing very quickly so only a shot or two of the underside. Hope that changes when the new terminal opens in a few months.
