Emirates A380 Official Welcome at KLIA

Recommended Posts

There was an official ceremony to welcome Emirates A380 service KUL/DXB last Thursday 12/01/12 at KLIA, and thanks to the venerable Mr Alan B, I got a last-minute invite. Let the pictures tell the story. :)

I guess if you are traveling on economy they would not allow you to visit the upper deck?

Btw the captain of the above flight EK346 from Dubai was the same Malaysian who flew the inaugural flight on 01/01/12. Well done, Capt Kwong!

This one, (7 Arab men in robes lining up under the UAE flag). I am wondering the same as well. Seems to me like 'Spirit of the ...'.

Oh, that one ... Special sticker: 40 Years Spirit of the Union - National Day.

UAE was formed 02 Dec 1971 when 7 emirates formed a federation. So last Dec they celebrated 40th anniv, and the 7 figures are the bosses of the 7 member emirates.

Doc, to go to the cockpit, do you go down or up the steps? From the outside the cockpit's deck looks like its between the deck hence your ',mezzanine floor"??

Azizul is right. These pics should clarify things a bit -- 'mezzanine' is of course a slight exaggeration. :)

Now just for a laugh, within this same topic-thread, lets have some fabulous photos of the archaic products that MH offered on its ancient A330s that plied the same KUL-DXB route.

Frankly I've forgotten that this MH thingy ever existed!

Nice one! The pilot didn't waste time in planting the wheels on the ground. You know what'd be better? KUL/SZB videos in HD :clapping:
