Robert 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2011 Whilst I understand that weather and traffic often has adirect input into how a flight is routed Ive noticed some big differences inroutes taken by similar flights at the same time to the same destination. For example Ive seen the MH & SQ flights which depart atalmost the same time take massively different routes and wondered why. Today on flightradar24 Ive seen something similar whereby 2 EKflights to LGW + BHX are taking a more southerly route by the LHR flights isway to the north. Any ideas what elsecould cause these differences or is it a case of a pilot just wanting to take adifferent route? An example is here (note the redline was manually drawn)
