Cathay Pacific Launches New HKG-ORD Service

Recommended Posts

Cathay Pacific has begun daily nonstop flights between Hong Kong and Chicago. The new service is handled by a 777-300ER aircraft featuring six First Class suites, 53 Business Class seats that convert to fully flat beds and seating for 238 Economy Class passengers with personal entertainment systems.

The new Chicago route is the latest Cathay Pacific North American service, which also includes nonstops to Hong Kong from Los Angeles, New York JFK, San Francisco, Toronto and Vancouver.

Admittedly it's possibly in poor taste to compare, but MH cannot even maintain a daily run to LAX :(

Basically no demand, with old aircraft and lesser frequency, many people opt for SQ.

Even one of the Sultans flew SQ last time when he went to LAX for open heart surgery (some may argue it was only because he didn't have to make two transits if he flies SQ because they have a non-stop flight to LAX from SIN). And then another Sultan also flew SQ to the States. Can't exactly remember where to or the purpose of the trip.
