Lim Kar Yong 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2015 2 class 615 seater A380 - gulp!! Air Asia configuration? 11-abreat on lower deck and 9-abreast on upper deck?
Isaac 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2015 2 class 615 seater A380 - gulp!! Air Asia configuration? 11-abreat on lower deck and 9-abreast on upper deck? It is in the normal configuration (10 abreast on the main deck), just without First Class and a smaller Business Class cabin. Speaking of EK A380-800, EK will upgrade one of its 6 daily flights to BKK to a 2-class 388 (currently a 3-class 77W). 4 out of 6 daily flights in and out of BKK will be operated by 388! Suzanne Goh 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2015 Just had a look at the seat map. Â Apparently, there are 120 Y seats in FRONT of the upper deck, and business class is in the traditional place, but with fewer seats, meaning the bar stays where it is. Â This also means a business class passenger would board through U1L, walk through part of the economy section before reaching the J cabin. Â On the main deck looks like they are one galley down, and it is not equipped with the ULR crew rest option = hence how they managed the Y615 config.. Â If done correctly, I don't think it will be too uncomfortable at all.
Jeffery Lim 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2015 Based on the timing, it looks like they are preparing the A380 to cater for transit passengers for DXB transit rush hours. The flight from DXB in the morning at 10am is usually empty. A couple of times which I fly on 77W, the back of the plane is practically empty with only about 15 passengers. kandiah k 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2015 So it is only once daily on the A380 between DXB and KUL?
Din Hilmi 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2015 I'm already imagining the scene at arrival immigration. It ain't gonna be pretty! Â I think the KUL departure immigration would be more ugly with the flight time closer with Europe, East Asia and Australia bound flights albeit it was later.. JuliusWong 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2015 (edited) For benefit of others who are not familiar with EK's A380 various seating arrangement: Â Â Copenhagen will be the first to get the 615 seats A380, commencing 1st Dec 2015. Â Emirates order book has 140 A380. Of these, 64 had been delivered. Â Interestingly, 90 earlier order is for EA engines, the newer order of 50 is for RR.
