Prompong J. 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2012 (edited) This Hotel look not bad if a/c land on 19L in the morning But I think go to spotting in the temple in the morning look better. The Convenient resort is other hotel nearby but too far for 19R landing shot, this hotel is good for 01L dep in the winter. http://www.convenientresort.com/ Room price also in the same rate with Queen Gardens Resort. KS Ong 1 Report post Posted May 23, 2012 If we are all moved to the Great Residence, then we can hire a van to take us around if we need to. Agree with the idea of getting a van. How many of us are confirmed going?

flee 5 Report post Posted May 23, 2012 Well only Josh T got the offer. Those who booked with Agoda will have to check what solution they are offered. It may not be the same offer for everyone. We just got to wait and see what Agoda offers us. However, it would simplify matters if all of us stick together so that logistics will be simpler.
Hon Kit 3 Report post Posted May 23, 2012 Alternative hotel we can opt for Phoenix hotel Bangkok which is about 200 meter away from Queens garden hotel. The rates is about Rm90 per nite http://www.phoenixhotelbangkok.com/

Waiping 12 Report post Posted May 25, 2012 Hi guys, Long haven't seen you guys here and in face, so may I have more information regarding this gathering? Such as which hotel to stay for spotting and how long to stay? Cause I wish some days sightseeing in downtown. Thanks. Welcome back bro! Date is 30/6 and original plan was to stay at Queen's Garden Resort. However it seems like there will be some renovation work there in June. Those who booked direct with hotel already received a notification e-mail but myself and a couple of others who booked through Agoda haven't receive any news yet. So we are stuck at this junction for the moment.
Sneeze Lam 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2012 Today I search on IHG and found the rate for Holiday Inn Silom is nice, so I may stay there for 1-2 nights. Just now I would like to see how you guys will go, then I plan the next and solid it.
flee 5 Report post Posted May 25, 2012 I'm sure the rest of you guys will get a notification from Agoda soon. Still no word from Agoda. So we have to wait and see... Lets hope it is not a last minute thing.
Josh T 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2012 Has someone written to Agoda? That might fast-track things a bit.
flee 5 Report post Posted May 27, 2012 I did an availability check on the Hotel's website. It seems that only those who book Deluxe rooms will be affected by the closure: http://www.queensgardenresort.net/obm30/availabilitycalendar.php?id=1&month=6&year=2012&ln=en
Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted May 27, 2012 If the rest has to move too, wouldn't the Phoenix Hotel be better than the one offered, given the close proximity to Queens Garden ? At least, we wouldn't need the extra van-rental (= saving money)... Still no message/news from Agoda though...

At least, we wouldn't need the extra van-rental (= saving money)... Still no message/news from Agoda though... This is what i have been thinking too as we can spot from the temple. I have emailed Agoda 2 days ago and still no reply from them .
Waiping 12 Report post Posted May 28, 2012 Well I have also e-mailed Agoda and they are verifying with the hotel. Should trigger some form of alarm since a few of us already e-mail them.
KS Ong 1 Report post Posted May 28, 2012 Got a reply fm them this morning "We have never received the information on the closure for renovation from the hotel. However, we will recheck with them. If it is the case, you can either get a full refund or we can find an alternative hotel for you if you wish. Regards / Mit freundlichen Grüßen, Nate" Hopefully they get back to us soon.
