Josh T 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2011 Josh, Great to see you were able to book your BKK flights; if no sales available between SYD and KUL, you might wanna use your miles ? Anyhow, it would be great to meet you !!! Thanks, Pieter! I am really looking forward to meting you and the other guys too. I always enjoy meeting fellow travel enthusiasts. I'm excited because I've never done anything like this before! As for using my miles, I'm actually aiming to reach platinum on Enrich in 2012, which should happen if all goes according to plan. I'm hoping I can get flights between SYD and KUL for So, I'm definitely arriving on the morning of June 29 and leaving the afternoon of July 1, giving me almost 3 days. Prompong J. 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2011 For your option, the old viewing mall @ DMK T-1 already back. If anyone need to catch some Nok & 1-2-go, the deck already opened. (Pic from Chaiyaporn M./Thailand Spotters)
Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted August 14, 2011 Good to see the viewing-deck opened again at Don Muang Thanks a lot for sharing this useful information !!! Just wonder how busy DMK is...
KC Sim 2 Report post Posted August 17, 2011 Wow, never thought I will get to ever see the view from Don Muang's viewing mall again!!! What a wonderful sight! This hopefully should be added justification for Mwings to celebrate its anniversary in Bangkok ... and for more members to quickly sign up. KC Sim
Waiping 12 Report post Posted August 31, 2011 Is DMK near Queen's Garden Hotel? A quick check with Flightstats seems like only domestic flights from DMK, but plenty of NOK apart from One-Two-Go and Orient Thai.
Prompong J. 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2011 If you need to travel between VTBS-VTBD, you need a minimum travel time around 45 mins by Taxi.
flee 5 Report post Posted September 21, 2011 Just got myself a bargain for flights between KUL and BKK with the MATTA fair sale! Now I just have to wait for a good special/fare between SYD and KUL. And I just booked my BKK flights on the AirAsia sale. Flying FD for the first time... So I am confirmed for the 7th Anniversary.
Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted September 21, 2011 Flying FD for the first time... Don't think it is much different to AK

flee 5 Report post Posted September 22, 2011 Don't think it is much different to AK I was told the FAs are better looking!
Waiping 12 Report post Posted September 22, 2011 I was told the FAs are better looking! Natural? Anyway, mind if I check how much was the fare? When I check it was about RM124/way excl. tax so I haven't book that sector. Only the BKI - KUL vv at RM26/way all in. BKI - KUL on Friday but KUL - BKI on Wednesday. Contemplating on trying other airlines - TG, RJ, LH, MS. Life is full of important choices.
flee 5 Report post Posted September 22, 2011 (edited) LH timing sucks - plus they don't have daily flights. MH/LH/SQ costs roughtly RM 650-710. I think MH should be cheaper than that if you book at MATTA Fair or about 3-4 weeks before departure. I booked during the new database opening sale on 21 Sept and got their RM 10 tickets. So total cost of KUL-BKK-KUL was RM 160 for ticket, fuel surcharge and taxes via FD/AK. I am going on 27 June and returning on 1 Jul. This still costs more than the RM 100.20 I paid for KUL-HKT-KUL (May 2012 travel) during their previous new database 20 sen sale. At that sale, fuel surcharges were waived. Apparently RM 10 fare is to celebrate their 10th birthday. They celebrate, we pay! Edited September 22, 2011 by flee

Waiping 12 Report post Posted September 23, 2011 Well I can't go earlier due to work commitment. So, can only travel a day before the event. Have check with Orbitz and it seems like RJ is offering the lowest price among the other FSC at USD155 all-inclusive return. So that works out to be just short of RM500. Waiping, if u wanna try RJ , book through their website cheaper. Usually lowest fare they offer are Rm32 per way. Tax takes around Rm320 bring total fare to around Rm 440 I might go for that option or maybe Lufthansa
