Garuda switching over to 320's for narrowbodies ?

The A320 are meant for Citilink. Most probably to flood Indonesia's market with cheap fares.

Seems like the "A" company is way ahead in terms of orders during this airshow.

Is the order of 10 nos B738 for MAS or Firefly ?

It's for MAS, because they exercise their options. Otherwise, they will mention specifically for FY.

Thanks for the correction. Now it tallies. 15 B747-8i for Hong Kong Airlines, 1 for Qatar Airways as BBJ and 1 remain unidentified.

ANOTHER SHOCKER: IndiGo confirms order for 180 A320: 150 A320NEOs and 30 A320!!!

John Leahy teased the media:

"It's the largest aeroplane transaction in the history of aviation." "It still is, at least for now"-> This means that AirAsia order will be larger than that of IndiGo.

EY seat doesn't decline?

Seems like the one that is (or was?) onboard CX's Y cabin.

Sometimes it seems paradoxical that people do not want the seats in front to recline in their face, yet they want to their seats recline all the way back

Wow,Sriwijaya Air is ordering E-190 jet.

Excellent choice !!!

KLC is very happy with them too and will take another 5 next year to operate a total of 22...

Surprised to see the counter for the A380 still NIL: there seems to be a disagreement between Airbus and Qatar Airways over the A350-1000, so this might 'delay' QR's order for another 5 A380's (?)

Conclusion:

Airbus continues its domination the fourth day of Paris Airshow 2011 with its new A320NEO family, racking up more than 1,029 orders and commitment so far. AirAsia rocked the airshow with a record order for 200 A320NEO plus 100 options on Thursday, an USD$18.2 billion deal making the Malaysian firm Airbus's biggest airline customer. GoAir also confirms its 72 A320NEOs. LAN also ordered 20 A320NEOs.

Airbus continue to score some small order for A380 with Skymark opting for 2 more A380s. Hainan Airlines Group orders 10 A380s.

While Airbus announced slew of new order, Boeing camp remains quiet with no order at all. It has been made known that Boeing are now being pushed to a corner in narrowbody market as traditional Boeing operators are now in negotiation with Airbus for A320NEO. American Airlines, a staunch Boeing operator is rumoured to be in discussion with Airbus on possibility of 100 A320NEO order, scheduled to conclude at least by early July.

Apart from the big two, other smaller civilian aircraft manufacturers also registered some orders. Most surprising are the Viking Canada Aircraft Industry's total order for 16 Twin Otters. ATR surprisingly performed well as well, racked in 60 firm orders and 37 options.

Russian-Italian joint venture Superjet International's Superjet 100 won another airline this time with Blue Panorama of Italy with 8 firm + 4 option order. To date, it has order from PT Sky of Indonesia and Interjet of Mexico.

The airshow in Paris also see the rise of China and Russia; waging in their respective aircraft to gain a slice in the civilian aircraft market. One of the most notable development was the signing of Ryanair has signed a memorandum of understanding with COMAC to participate in the development of COMAC C919 aircraft.
