Gavin Andrew David 6 Report post Posted May 6, 2011 I recently booked a flight to Japan on Singapore Airlines On my ticket however , which was booked by my American Express Canada Travel arranger , it states that the Baggage allowance is 2 PC However , upon checking the Singapore Airlines website , it states : What is the allowance for checked baggage?Weight allowances for checked baggage are as follows: First Class: 40 kg (88 lb) Business Class: 30 kg (66 lb) Economy Class: 20 kg (44 lb) So which should I follow I can't take the risk carrying two bags and ending up having troubles during check in . Mushrif A 3 Report post Posted May 6, 2011 Are you flying to Japan from North America? If so, 2 pieces it is. And each piece is capped at 23kg (I think) although it was 32kg per piece a few years ago - and this is in Y. Otherwise, 20kg if flying in Y.
Kenneth Chong WT 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2011 It's like AirAsia, you can have 2 piece weighing not more than 20kg...
Mushrif A 3 Report post Posted May 6, 2011 It's like AirAsia, you can have 2 piece weighing not more than 20kg... Not on SQ. If he's flying Y from SIN, he can have more than 2 pieces of luggage as long as the combined weight is not more than 20kg. Above 20kg - may attract luggage fees. Kenneth Chong WT 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2011 Yup, I stand corrected, actually AK also allows "a few" pieces with a a combined weight not exceeding the pre-purchased weight.

Yoong 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2011 (edited) Are you book on SQ12 SIN/NRT?? If yes, there is a possibility the airline or travel agent issue the ticket wrongly. To Japan is 20kg SIN-SQ-JAPAN (20KG FOR EY) Unless your ticket route (for example) SIN-JAPAN 1JUN JAPAN-USA/CANADA 3JUN Abv itin FBA will be 2PC (1pc = 23kg) Call SQ is the best solution!!
