JuliusWong 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2014 AI has been trying to unload their 777LR, maybe MH should look into them. From I understand, 777-200LR is economically better than 77E, especially on longer routes. Although I would really like to see MAS colour on raked wing. but none of MAS route demands the use of B77L. It will be a financial hell for MAS accounting department to work out the numbers to justify the purchase. 3 is too little for even the four Europe destinations. Waiping 12 Report post Posted August 21, 2014 Better fleet utilisation should be the key, perhaps lease some of the aircraft if there is better returns. Getting new aircraft should be put aside for the time being.

Adrian Meredith 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2014 Just flown MRN today from Hong Kong to KUL. Very, very light load, I think less than 80 pax in Y...... My last three return flights over the past month, HAN, PVG, CGK, have all been near full. Obviously can't say what the yield was on those flights though. JuliusWong 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2014 All the older gen A330 had been scrapped or in the process of transferring to Tupelo to be scrapped. All their last flight routing was SZB-KIX-PDX-TUP. Only the A332 managed to soldier on: one went to Windrose Aviation; two went to AR.

flee 5 Report post Posted March 22, 2015 They need to install the "bump" in front, same like new 332F? Nope, that will not be done. Instead they will install a cargo floor with powered rollers to help move the cargo pallets.

JuliusWong 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2015 Not sure which B738NG will be chopped, there are 57 of them in service now both BSI and non-BSI. Out of these 57 frames, 12 do not have -H6 code and have different configuration. Maybe these are the first to go? As per previous news item, they will remove 21 of them from service. Overall, the new "MAS" will have: A330- 15 A380- 4 B737- 36 B777- 6 Total- 61 aircraft. Just about the right size for a lean airline.
