Mr. Piyasvasti Amranand, THAI President, said as part of the company’s continued aircraft enhancement program, since the THAI Board’s approval in June 2010, THAI is pleased to receive the A330-300 aircraft with 263 new economy class seats. “We have eagerly awaited this delivery and are pleased that our customers in economy class can experience improved products. Economy class customers can expect to enjoy a 32-inch seat pitch, 18-inch seat width, and a 9-inch personal screen with 100 movie selections,” said the president.

After undergoing the ZIM seat installation for one month in Germany, the ferry flight TG8920 left Hamburg on 25 March 2011 at 11:00 am and arrived at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport on 26 March 2011 at 03:00 am. This first A330-300 (of five aircraft planned for undergoing new economy class seat installation) is registered as HS-TEQ, MSN 1037, and royally bestowed as Si Ayutthaya.

THAI plans to operate the A330-300 aircraft, with Business class and Economy class offerings, mainly on regional routes. The Business Class products include a shell-type seating design that has a 58-inch pitch, a 20-inch width, reclining to 170 degrees. Business Class passengers on these aircraft can enjoy the new in-flight entertainment system on a 15-inch personal screen with more than 100 movies and short programs to choose from, as well as enjoy a vast music selection of 290 CDs.

Great! Love the colours of Thai Airways. Hope I get to fly with them in the near future. :)

(Almost flew Thai airways to HKG and PVG last year!)

somehow the economy class seat looks more comfy than the business class to me :D

Economy is never more comfortable than Business. Never ever. <_>

Love the colours of the economy class seats! Very Thai, very TG and very pleasing.

As more airlines now have fully-flat beds in business class, I was surprised that the business class seats on this newly-delivered aircraft is still inclined. But I am sure the cabin service, meals and IFE will mitigate this issue.

Hope to see more of the A330-300s leave Bordeaux for Hamburg and finally to Bangkok. And perhaps some will be deployed to SIN from time to time.

Lovely aircraft in TG's livery. And nice pictures by Promphong ... enjoyed that well-shot video too.

Love the colours. But the thinly cushioned Economy seats don't look very comfy.

If A333 EY seat is similar to 772; recline and slide, offer good support, well padded and fairly comfortable :drinks:

Believe few pax can distinguish between TG refurbished A333 and MH brand new A33E. MH could have taken similar path while waiting for A350.

HS-TEQ is a new aircraft - it first flew on 30-07-2009 and was stored till this year before the new seats were fitted. I believe that the original seats were the controversial Koito seats.
