Mir,

Excellent catch !!! In my 43 years of spotting I've never seen this in reality...

Wonder how much percentage more drag this engine will cause

Hi All,

Here's a selection from Perth to drool over, some taken last month & some as recent as yesterday. The 747-438 VH-OJL was certainly the highlight yesterday & to achieve maximum results you needed to be under the approach, for me personally you just had to nail it landing!... such a rare & once in a life time opportunity to photograph such an aircraft under these circumstances. Lets start the pictures!

Greg, those were all awesome pictures. Does our airline still frequenting Perth as a schedule flight or a chartered one? And off course OJL is a headturner. It's just soo rare that I can't believe that it was taken in Perth. :yahoo:

Just realized all of their B744s were christened "Longreach".
Correct, all the 747's bare the name of QF's birthplace, plus the name of an Australian city or town.

Charter only

Nice coverage of movements in July guys. Did anyone capture the AN12 that visited about one week ago?

This Legacy visited today under gloomy skies.

Hi Iggy,

Today's weather was anything but special, but the prized catch was the Indian BD-700-1A10! the rest were run of the mill on a Saturday, the SAA still all white (SXG) & Air North ops Sat & Sun (non charter) but scheduled. Greg

Greg, what's the rego of the Spitfire? Is it based at Jandakot?

Airnorth on charter again ? Love the lil short E-jets... , now I miss Perth :p

Air North flies Kununurra-Perth-Kununurra every Saturday and they've added an extra Sunday flight from mid May until 28th August.

There'll be some interesting events in October:

1. 2nd October - SABC Annual Fly-in, Serpentine Airfield 'Kampung Air Show' :good:

2. 15-16 October - SAAA Langley Park Fly-In

3. 28-30 October - CHOGM 2011 (Head of States planes)

Kampung Air Show as in village style air show or water village show? Could mean different things over here. :p

The Serpentine Annual Fly-In is a gathering of home-build planes, warbirds, replicas, light sport aircrafts(LSA) and gyros..no jets at all. Its a day of flying and fun at a small airfield located in a kampung area in Serpentine, Western Australia. Click here
