foreigners flying in Cyberjaya

Recommended Posts

Hi all:

Do you have any general aviation airports near Cyberjaya?

Do they have a flying club or an aircraft rental operator?

What are the requisites for a foreigner to fly in Malasya?

Will an ICAO valid license and medical be enough or is there a convalidatation process?

Thanks a lot.

Roberto

nearest to Cyberjaya is in Simpang Airport and Subang Airport.

Royal Selangor Flying Club, Subang Flying Club and ESB Flying Club.

You have to convert your license to Malaysia License.

Hi Roberto,

A useful information by Hanx.

Yes, we do have GA operations in Malaysia mainly located at SUBANG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (WMSA) and somewhere around 40KM away from Putrajaya.

You can reach WMSA via PLUS HIGHWAY or LDP-PUCHONG-SUBANG JAYA LINK.

First of all, better you get to Malaysia License conversion as a first step.

Famous flying clubs in WMSA such:

-ESB FC (Operating by ITNS Flying Academy), mainly using CIRRUS SR20 G3 for PPL members

Contact: 03-78464733 Captain Uzmana a.k.a Captain Nana

-ELITE FC (Sorry no information about this club)

-SUBANG FC, mainly using CESSNA 172N and CESNNA 150. Normally foreigners join this club due to Cessna rental is cheaper.

Contact: 012-2052840 Captain Aslem

Excellent, do you how far these are from Cyberjaya and what types of aircraft they have?

Thanks a lot.

You guys are great!!

I fly a Rockwell Commander 114; so the Cirrus seems like an attractive alternative; knowing there are very good flying options there makes this "option evaluation" much easier.

I guess that ATC and normal radio communications are ok in English... I hope!

Thanks again!

Cyberjaya located adjacent to Putrajaya and near to PLUS HIGHWAY entrance and its still about 40KM to WMSA.

Wow, Commander 114...powerful six-cylinder engine Lycoming with 260HP! Then CIRRUS SR20 G3 is suit for you, with 200HP, EFIS aircraft, IFR day and night, and crusing at 150KIAS with Vne 200KIAS.

ESB (Eurodynamic Sdn Bhd) provide rental for this aircraft somewhere aroung RM9xx.00 per hour with instructor.

Registration fee to be a member i think somewhere around RM2xxx.00

I am with ESB FC since 2004.

No worries about our Malaysian ATC. They are great in English...but you just need to fast react, otherwise they might hold you on Holding Point or Downwind for 30minutes!
