Anything else?

Air Macau

All Nippon Airways

Qantas

Radzi, do you include KUL when it was back in Subang as well ?

Let's keep it to modern times, i.e. Sepang. Otherwise we would be including long extinct airlines: MSA, Flying Tiger, BOAC.....

Because it wasn't profitable.

I don't think Kuwait Airways ever fly to KUL, Azmal.

KU, I believe, did fly A340s into KUL maybe last summer or two summers ago, for the seasonal tourist charter flight - I think it was a stopover of the regular flight into SIN.

Apart from this, the scheduled flights were only into subang using 767-200s....many years ago.

It did (Well the SZB KUL anyway) . I remember in 1989/90 they had this promotion over Radio 4. They interviewed the Kuwait Airways stewardesses who were amazed with KL.

As stated above, I did recall seeing the KU A340 at KLIA but can't remember if it was last yr or two years ago during the peak M-east tourist period.

I forgot another one - how about Continental Micronesia (to SZB)? I remember seeing their DC-10 taking off when my father took me on a spotting trip to SZB years ago (late 80s -1991). Could have been charter or special occasion though.

Hey guys.....extinct airlines to KUL?...let me see..what about Northwest Airlines from Detroit back in 1999 i think??? they used to serve KUL as an internation hub in asia back then before the dawn of the new millenium

Yeah, NW used to fly KUL-KIX-DTW at one point in time once KLIA was opened.

But sadly, the airline ceased operations into KUL for some obvious reasons.

They used a DC-10 for the route.

Currently, they code share with KLM on the AMS-KUL-AMS and pax have a great opportunity to transit at AMS on the many NW flights out of AMS. Perhaps someday they can fly to KUL via AMS.

Perhaps DTW-AMS-KUL on a B744.

Does anyone know what ever happen to First Cambodia ? I know it was not doing too well but total silence now.

What about South African ? Did they ever fly into KUL or SIN ?

NW/KLM operate in such a way that they complement each other's service.

AMS-Delhi is operated by KL

AMS-Mumbai is operated by NW

AMS-Hyderabad is/will be operated by KL

AMS-Bangalore is/will be operated by NW

The same goes for transatlantic flights. There's no overlapping of routes between AMS and the USA.

KLM is already operating AMS-KUL so the chance of NW lauching their own AMS-KUL is extremely slim to none. All NW flights to the Far East go via Japan (NRT/NGO/KIX). If NW were to relaunch KUL, it'll be via Japan, hopefully via NRT this time rather than KIX previously.

SAA flew JNB-SIN-TPE in mid-90s. They probably had other routings over the years too before they stopped flying to SIN. Now that they're entering Star Alliance soon, they might make a comeback.
