Not sure but it does look similar...

No. Not anymore. They were supposed to resume the flight between ICN/BKI in July and August with 4 flights a week but this is canceled too.

It seems KE has reversed the BKI withdrawal plan. They are resuming BKI twice weekly for summer season.

And this actually continues into Fall (end of October 2012). So basically, we now have 10x weekly flights between BKI/ICN :good:

The air fare ex-BKI is actually more expensive than ex-KUL. A return ticket between BKI/ICN is around RM2.2k - RM2.3k while KUL/ICN is around RM1.8k - RM2.4k. Not exactly sure why :unknw:

Isaac - the answer is because the lowest fare buckets have been sold to travel agencies. Essentially these flights returned because of travel agent demand from both ends of the route.

Thanks for the explanation :drinks: Then is it safe to assume that 3/4 of the seats available are all sold to travel agencies in Seoul and KK ? I've never flown on KE but last time i took OZ to ICN, i was the only Malaysian onboard along with 2 Japanese transiting in ICN.

Awesome! It means the demand is still great! Many local travel agencies couldn't secure seats on the 4x weekly Asiana Airlines flights as most seats are reserved for travel agencies in Korea and ever since KE and MH stopped this route, almost all tour groups had to transit in KUL.

Fodder for thought on why MH's management decided (in all its wisdom) to drop BKI-ICN-BKI altogether

Flown on KE before. Both KE and OZ can be easily get from ravel agent. However, not sure how to book ZE, though. Previously they were using T2 but now have moved to T1.

If my memory serves me correctly, one of the reasons reported by local media is that there isn't sufficient demand for this route. Funny that what they (Korean carriers) do (not one or two BUT three) all seem to suggest otherwise. Perhaps they are saint or something that they are willing to fly this route even if they are making losses just to ferry their people between Korea and KK, sort of like doing NS for their country or something :D

Eastar Jet (ZE) as i understand, is allowed to carry Korean nationals only originating from Korea, similar to the license used by FAT, UniAir and Transasia Airways last time when they flew to BKI. I guess this explains why it is not possible for us to buy Eastar Jet's ticket. With ZE continues to fly to BKI 4x times a week after more than one year, i guess it is safe to assume that they are doing well at BKI :drinks:

Hi Isaac - no problems at all :) Actually about 90% of the seats have been blocked for the travel agents on the B738, so the average person has to fight for the 10% left, hence the higher prices as compared to ex-KUL. On the other hand, KUL is now seeing an upgraded B77W, with speculation rife that KUL could get a double daily during November with an extra A333.

You mean HKG? or maybe Dragonair has the rights to operate between ICN and BKi?

This is quite surprising. Thought they were doing so well. whatever happened to the indian carriers these days, Most of them couldn't even make KUL work. First Air India, then Indian, now Jet. Not sure how Air India Express doing. KUL lost 2 nice airlines this year, GF and JET.

Kuantan ??....is this for real ?

I believe China Airlines as well as FAT and Mandarin offered chartered flights to Kuantan for years now. If i'm not mistaken most of the chartered flights were booked by Travel agencies for Club Med. Mandarin airlines used to offer scheduled services to Kuantan with their B738 many years ago but the service didn't last long.
