Looks like the interns working at MU suddenly remembered that they forgot to update KUL schedules for Winter 24/25 ?

Previously, FM/MU's current 4 daily PVG-KUL 789/737/359 combo was shrunk to 2x FM 737 services. Seems like MU is back with 332 instead of 359 for the evening departure ex-PVG. Along with that, PKX-KUL is now 7x weekly, up from 4x. Flights that have yet to be added: KMG, HGH

BA cancels or postpones KUL until at least April 2025

You'd think that they will have some spares lying around during their winter since TATL flights are reduced significantly (plus suspension of PEK and reduction of HKG). But read on another forum that their handling is almost as bad as MH 2 months ago when they reduced their network by 20%. At least BA only cut 3 routes this winter.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 21st October 2024: At a gala event in Kuala Lumpur, attended by over a hundred Malaysian travel agents specializing in tours to Bhutan, Bhutan Airlines (Tashi Air Pvt. Ltd.) announced the launch of fixed departure flights connecting Malaysia and Bhutan, with the first flight scheduled for 20th December 2024. These fixed departure flights will offer travelers a convenient and reliable option to explore Bhutan. The event was honored by the presence of the Deputy Chairman of Tourism Malaysia, the Chief Marketing Officer of the Department of Tourism Bhutan, officials from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia, officials from Malaysia Airport Holdings Bhd, tour operators, cargo agents, and other key partners.

"Bhutan is known for its unique traditions and is a carbon-negative country," said Pema Nadik, CEO of Bhutan Airlines. "We are excited to facilitate travel between Malaysia and Bhutan, allowing more people to experience Bhutan's unparalleled beauty and cultural heritage."

The inaugural flight will depart on 20th December 2024, and tickets are available for purchase now through our website www.bhutanairlines.bt. Travelers are encouraged to book early to secure their seats on this new route. "We believe this new route will not only strengthen tourism ties between Malaysia and Bhutan but these direct flights will significantly reduce travel time for passengers," added Pema Nadik.

This announcement follows the launch of fixed departure flights from Vietnam starting from January 2025 as well as the launch and operations of fixed departure flights form Mumbai and Bengaluru, India earlier this year.

For more information about the new flights or to make a reservation, please our website or contact our customer service team during office hours.

Bhutan Airlines is a private airline, a different entity with Drukair, the de facto government airline. Currently operates two A319 with 12/116 seating configuration.

Turkish will increase IST-KUL from 14x to 18x weekly beginning June 2025. IST-KUL terminator 13x weekly and IST-KUL-SYD 5x weekly (still no traffic rights between KUL and SYD yet). I expect more changes to come as both TK62 IST-KUL and TK 174 IST-KUL-SYD are currently scheduled depart at 15:50 from IST. Can't imagine the confusion when someone shows up to the wrong boarding gate at IST.

Much preferred carrier over ME3 if I am flying to Europe. The 10-11 hours flight from/to IST is much better for sleeping than to break up 6-6 for those ME3. I generally avoid ME3 if I am flying to Europe. TK also has a lot of beyond connections at KUL on MH (to/from Australia/ASEAN) hence they really need the capacity/frequency. TK also connects people from most part of the world (Americas, Africa, Europe) to/from Malaysia. I've even seen a few pax flying JED-IST-KUL (and also CX pax flying KUL-HKG-DEL/BOM).
