affendi osman 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2017 (edited) MH should place some order for this beauty....or at least lease reason? Because others have it so we must have it too? Edited January 21, 2017 by affendi osman
KK Lee 5 Report post Posted January 21, 2017 reason? Because others have it so we must have it too? 788 could allow MH to provide daily service on thin and long route profitably. 789 has common rating with 788, allow certain yield management.

Amirul Mazlan 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2017 788 is almost done itself. Boeing didnt accumulate new order for the variant and few customers switched orders to bigger -9 and -10.
KK Lee 5 Report post Posted January 22, 2017 (edited) 788 is almost done itself. Boeing didnt accumulate new order for the variant and few customers switched orders to bigger -9 and -10.What is the point for mab to deploy bigger aircraft if couldn't break even? When mab begin to expand, ideally should start with 788. If the route proved profitable, could upgrade to 789 or 78a, and assign 788 to new routes. With mab reputation, to start any new routes with 789 or 359 is almost certain will suffer losses for a long period. flee 5 Report post Posted January 22, 2017 B788 is dead - unless you get launch order prices, it will not be economic as Boeing will not give you the kind of discounts as they did for launch customers. Furthermore, Boeing has already told customers that the improvements developed for the B789 will not be incorporated into the B788. So it makes no sense for a new customer to buy the B788 as the B789 has better economics. If MAB cannot fill a B789, then it should just get the A338. I think MAB's best and lowest cost path is to go for A339 for regional routes and A359 for long haul. In future, if it can fill more seats, it can consider the A3510. I thought we already have 359 on the shelf Yes, already six are on order. I believe MAB is going Boeing for narrow body and Airbus for wide body. The B787 is considered in case Boeing can offer a killer price for MAB's order. But Boeing's program accounting deferred costs are very high and they have very little room to discount unless you were one of the early birds. New customers will be charged prices to enable them to make a profit to cover the deferred costs.
