affendi osman 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2011 Been on MXC today, KUL - PEN. The feelings was "waaaaaaaaaa, nice plane" But the seat is slightly cramped due to reduced legroom. But, overall, skyinterior is great!

Cheng Long 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2011 The seats are very cramped..Otherwise I would see it as a winner..
Josh T 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2011 They should be cramped. The seat pitch is only 30"! If MH want to successfully use these birds for international flights, the minimum seat pitch should be 32". Some of these flights last up to 5 hours. Most people would rather pay less for a LCC where the seat pitch would be similar. I think it's a huge mistake on MH's part to have such a tight pitch. The majority of travellers would be reluctant to fly more than 3 hours on a B737. Providing a pitch of 32" would effectively offset that prejudice. Having the Sky Interior together with a seat pitch of 32" and AVOD will make passengers feel like they're on wide-body.

RobK 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2011 Hi all, New MAS B738 9M-MLK (39320) now won't be happening and instead will be going to FireFly as 9M-FFF. No delivery date set for it yet but expect its arrival in the next couple of months.

RobK 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2011 Why is it going to FY and are they going to have the same seats as MH too? I have no idea. I have no knowledge nor interest in that stuff, only the raw airframe and customer data. Isn't FireFly an offshoot of MAS? If so then it makes sense to swap the aircraft around to suit each operation's requirements at a given time.
flee 5 Report post Posted June 4, 2011 Hi all, New MAS B738 9M-MLK (39320) now won't be happening and instead will be going to FireFly as 9M-FFF. No delivery date set for it yet but expect its arrival in the next couple of months. Finally, we have a brand new aircraft fresh from the factory for FY. Until now all their B737 aircraft are used ones - so their claim of a "brand new fleet" is somewhat dubious!

RobK 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2011 (edited) 9M-FFF now sched to deliver to the customer on 28 June. Hopefully it will use a MAS callsign so you can see it on the trackers. If it flies with FFM callsign it won't show up on the trackers as that identifier is not unfiltered. Roll out at RNT should have been yesterday (3rd) and first flight planned for 16th. RobK 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2011 More leased ones coming to MAS from Babcock & Brown. 9M-MLK will now be 39321, and 9M-MLL will be 39322. No del dates set yet and as they're leased ones they won't have Sky Int before anyone asks. 9M-MXE is set for delivery at the end of this month, but no actual date fixed yet. 9M-FFF left BFI on 28 June to HNL as FFM5203 for Firefly but I see someone already picked that one up in the Firefly thread. On a different note, if anyone knows any pilots flying the B738s 9M-FFD & 9M-FFE for Firefly could you ask them to file the flight ID in the FMC for ADS instead of transmitting the default "@@@@@@@@@" ID. Neither aircraft can be tracked until someone does!
Mushrif A 3 Report post Posted July 7, 2011 as they're leased ones they won't have Sky Int before anyone asks. I think the main criteria if a 738 comes with a Sky Interior or not is if the purchaser had ordered such an interior in the first place, not if the eventual operator leased or owned the aircraft. Having said this, any future Babcock leased 738 to come with the Sky Interior?

jackch747 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2011 Why do they need AVOD when most of these new B738s fly regional routes?
Y. J. Foo 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2011 Why do they need AVOD when most of these new B738s fly regional routes? BKI-HND is by no means regional. For sub-2 hours flights IFE may not be necessary but once beyond that they could use more entertainment. Reckon MS* will not have IFE and meant for domestic ops.
