Naim 6 Report post Posted June 12, 2012 Which model did you get? http://www.microadsb.com Antenna now in a 'better' position, can see all the way to Pekan and north of Penang. But house blocks signals coming in from Selat Melaka and Sumatra side.
Raymund Yeoh 1 Report post Posted June 12, 2012 Imagine if this antenna is stuck on a high rise building, the coverage will be much better
Naim 6 Report post Posted June 12, 2012 Imagine if this antenna is stuck on a high rise building, the coverage will be much better True, with the above set-up, can already get signals from planes up to 350km away. Maybe get one of these puppies! http://www.dpdproductions.com/page_vhf_air.html#adsbout ===
Naim 6 Report post Posted June 12, 2012 (edited) Have repositioned the antenna on a ledge at the extreme corner of the house to catch whatever signals coming in from behind it, and it is encouraging. EK358 is probably almost 300km away in the Selat Melaka just now! Btw, WMSA2 is off-line 13-18/06/2012 -- traveling to Mindanao, and the netbook serving the ADSB is coming with us. Sorry. Naim 6 Report post Posted June 12, 2012 Good work! I also saw a Jetstar off Kuantan picked up by your receiver this afternoon. Not bad, huh? Thanks, btw I wonder why Firefly ATR planes out of SZB do not seem to have ADS-B. ===
JingKai Seah 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2012 i think they mentioned before that ATR planes dont equip them with ADS-B somewhere in the forum? but i also not sure why~ would love to turboprop planes on the radar too~ Btw Naim.. The Code.. WMSA2.. is it given by the system or do you create 1 yourself? are you able to choose?
Naim 6 Report post Posted June 13, 2012 For FR24, they ask you to email them for feed software plus code of nearest airport. Then they email link to download feed software + unique key. They also assign the radar ID which is obviously based on the airport code submitted.

flee 5 Report post Posted June 13, 2012 Doc, did you buy it online or did you pick it up when you were on your travels? Yes, the peninsula coverage is getting better - we have WMKP, WMKK and WMSA now, together with WSSS. Nothing in East Malaysia and Thailand, though!
