Calling all FR24 feeders, especially in Malaysia:

This might be a bit of a big ask, but if you have ADS-B hardware and is willing to fork out Euro 25 for PlanePlotter, you then can feed to Flightaware via sharing and get a free enterprise account, provided you register an account with flightaware. There is also stats of your feed. If you have SBS3 you can feed direct to flightaware too.

The more feeders the better, country wise and continent wise. Currently there is only 1 feeder from Sabah, Malaysia. If West Malaysia feeders join in it will be great as there is much more a/c movements!

for details please see:

Rumours is that Flightaware might sell their own ADS-B equipment sometime early next year.

I did post an FR24 screenshot of 2 Japan airforce aircrafts crossing Sabah's west coast heading to Japan in the previous BKI spotting thread. Japan PM was inside one of the planes after he made official visit to Indonesia.

Hi!

I've noticed for sometime that Firefly's 9M-FYA always operates with callsign HANUMI.

Anyone knows why this is the case?

Thanks in advance! :hi:

9m-FYA is a AT75 with a mode s transponder, the pilots are free to key in whatever call sign they want compared to their ADSB counterparts ie AT76/air asia's fleet of A320. The reason why we can see it has a call sign hanumi is because of mutilple flightradar24 receivers at different locations are able to get a fix based of MLAT calculations. Something like getting one's location via a ping to their mobile phone with the help of communications towers.

Charters to/from Langkawi are usually for big tour groups.

There is currently an incentive group of about 2000 persons from China that are visiting Ipoh, Penang and Langkawi before returning to KL for a convention.
