MIR 2 Report post Posted April 3, 2010 Mir, Perdana 2 is call sign for DPM right?? Any idea what a/c will be used? EMmm from border of Tganu and Kelate... Yerp..that's the official callsign for aircrafts carrying the DPM around the country. IIRC, if he's on the heli, its Gading Two. The callsign is different for int'l flights, the GLEX which carried him to Australia last year used 'Romeo Mike Foxtrot 435'. Sorry bro,no info on the aircraft type. Jonathan Kong 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2010 SherM, the name of the pilots are written right below the canopy. In the above picture, Major Patricia; with the callsign Foxy 4 April 2010. With Malaysians and visitors all glued to TV or Sepang F1 circuit, i found myself once again at Subang... to catch these soon to be retired Cobras The very senior M43-01 leading them the way to Sepang... Smoky take off... nice! M43-08 solo take off Power up power up... Major Patricia's turn... rotates! Gears up, power up not to be outdone by those fighter jets, Berjaya Air ATR72 tried to show us how powerful she can be

Geoff R. 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2010 (edited) Wow...Fantastic shots, Jon & Ong !! Really enjoyed viewing those MIG shots Found out that one of RMAF's dual seater MIG-29 was transferred to Russia Air Force a few years back. So is M43-01 is their 2nd dual seater? Photo 1 Photo 2 Mir I saw this picture on Airliners some time ago and it poses a couple of questions. Firstly the TUDM serial it shows is M43-10 which has always been a single seater. Only two twin seaters were delivered M43-01 and M43-02. Secondly the size and the location of TUDM and M43-10 does not match that of any TUDM Mig-29 picture I have seen, old or new. TUDM and the serial have always been painted slightly smaller and slightly lower down on the tail. The photo has ben deemed a fake by some people but I am not sure. Assuming it is an untouched photo I would be very interested to hear the story behind this aircraft's markings. Geoff PS Great shots of the Mig-29s guys Edited April 5, 2010 by Geoff R.
