Chaity 1 Report post Posted January 28, 2010 (edited) any news when is her departure? I have no idea when is her departure. My guess is coming Saturday (30/1) but again in FIFA website, it stated 31/1 as the arrival in New Caledonia. Perhaps those attending the Mid Valley event can get more info and post it here. My other photos are still in my home computer. Will edit some photos tonight. Liew, you managed to stitch the side profile of the aircraft from 3 photos ? I didn't expect the aircraft is going to Gate B. Though she would go to Bungaraya Complex. Hmmmmm I left my wide angle lens at home. Here's one more full shot before my telephoto lens cuts her into 3 parts BTW, she is parked at open bay B52 with no cone obstruction or security guards. Good view from Anjung Tinjau too. Still have at least 3 more days to see her in KUL. Edited January 28, 2010 by Chaity

Chaity 1 Report post Posted January 28, 2010 Nice catch of Lulu, Chaity & Liew.... Now... should I or shouldn't I...? Norman, do you think Lulu will come back here to meet you again ? FYI, Bay B52 is good for afternoon or evening shooting from Anjung Tinjau. A question, is it possible for this MD-83 to fly non-stop to New Caledonia ? If not, where do you know she will do a tech stop ?
flee 5 Report post Posted January 28, 2010 A question, is it possible for this MD-83 to fly non-stop to New Caledonia ? If not, where do you know she will do a tech stop ? I don't think so, according to the Boeing website, the MD-83's max range is 2,504 nautical miles (4,635 km) - not sure if this range is at MTOW. This plane should be quite light since it is a VIP plane, so it might have longer range. I think that they might need 2 tech stops - maybe one in Indonesia and another in Australia's east coast. Very nice shots of a rare aircraft and livery!
Chaity 1 Report post Posted January 28, 2010 (edited) Here's a few more shots that I have with me at the moment. It seems only 2 "crazy spotters" covering from Anjung Tinjau (AT) that chased after her from the middle of AT to the left side B gates. Before even the main door is open, back door open first with these people going on board. Not sure why but perhaps World cup trophy is too hot so a nurse is needed to check the temperature. I believe the Regional GM of Coca-Cola accompanied by the 4 ladies and 2 security walking towards the plane. While near the terminal, press and others are eager to go out. MAB did provide a mobile stairs initially ...... But not needed as the aircraft has her own with the press of a button Edited January 28, 2010 by Chaity
