Radzi 2 Report post Posted June 8, 2011 Gentlemen, Are there any easily accessed spotting spot in KIX and HND? If any, will a 70-200 be enough?
TK 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2011 Radzi, 70-200 enough. Haneda spotting terrace is ok. Morning at JAL terminal, afternoon its either ANA or International terminal. All has big floor space for spotting. Shooting through the safety fence, they do have a "hole" for your lens to go through. GO la spotting, check weather first. Junichi Suzuki 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2011 Radzi san> 70-200mm is enough at both KIX and HND But if you go spotting to KIX, the spotting point is only here ---> Kanku Sky View This place is good when R/W24 is in use, on the other hand not good when R/W06 is in use... I think that the southwest wind often blows in a current season, it means R/W24 is in use I hope you can get a lot of special things in Japan
kianhong 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2011 Gentlemen, Are there any easily accessed spotting spot in KIX and HND? If any, will a 70-200 be enough? From my experience spotting in HND, (as mentioned by TK) morning at JAL terminal - T1, mid afternoon can go catch some international arrival n departure at international terminal, then move to ANA terminal - T2 in the afternoon. All observation deck very spotter-friendly. One can do some really good nite spotting in T2 South observation deck as it's horizontal wires that separating u from the aircrafts. All terminals are connected by free shuttle bus at the arrival level. Enjoy!
Ian Lim 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2011 radzi, can always travel to ITAMI as well. 70-200 will be too much for a 772 rotating right in front of you

Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 Looks nice, Suzuki-san: a bit like Thai, though...
KC Sim 2 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 Love the special livery on the first two B787 Dreamliners ... although there is a hint of Thai or UPS, the lines and shading makes them very dynamic and the overall effect is very stunning. Suzuki-san, could you please keep us informed if there is any news of the very first B787 flight? I am certain that there are some who are still contemplating being on that very first commercial flight. Thank you in advance and thanks for the links. Junichi Suzuki 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2011 Yesterday, B787 visited NGO for the first time Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner (N787EX) She arrived at 7:10AM, so early morning arrival from HND, but over 2,000 spotters had already waited her arrival!!! The sky deck of NGO was full of many many spotters Dreamliner & Dreamlifter(N747BC) NGO is the only airport in Japan where both B747LCF Dreamlifter and B787 Dreamliner are seen at a time! So many spotters came and staedy in NGO the day before to catch 2 x Dreams
flee 5 Report post Posted July 11, 2011 Suzuki san - excellent catches from NGO. And to have two Dream aircraft at the same time is a real bonus. I saw the many videos that are posted on YouTube and the B787 is a very quiet plane! I guess the latest RR Trents that we see on the B787 and A380 make them among the quietest civil jetliners in service.
Sri Ramani K. 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2011 And Suzuki san, many of us will still continue to "dream" to catch these two beauties at least once. Great catch and your persistence definitely paid off!
