kianhong 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2009 Some worthy movements besides all the usual virgins, pornstars and tigers. <_> What a luck to catch this A320 (F-GSTR c/n: 436) wet-leased by Solomons Airlines from Strategic. Seen here intercepting the 3 miles final, then miss approach back to YBBN. Beside the big Solomons on the fuselage, is the Solomons colored wing tips. And add on to that, caught my favourite aircraft G550 (N1BN) inbound from Hamilton Island. So this is the only specials I caught in YBMC, there's still the Seaworld color and Titan color. Thanks for viewing. Cheers

kianhong 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2009 Thanks guys. Glad that I can share some pix from MCY. Nothing much really going on here. Oh ... good thing is my room window facing the rwy 36 APP and rwy 18 DEP. Wow, that 320 is really a rare catch; 1st time I see this livery !!! N1BN also a regular at AMS - she is really roaming around... Strategic is a rather new start-up airlines in Australia. Before this, it was operating a A333 (CS-TMT) for military chartered. Now it fly a A332 (VH-SSA) and two A320 (F-GSTR & F-GSTS). Oh yes! I was quite surprised to see N1BN at MCY where BNE is just 20mins flying time away. kianhong 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2009 For once today, Sunshine Coast went to sleep. Intermittent sunlight the whole day due some passing showers. Weekend seems to be the preferred time for regional airlines and GA operator from YBBN to do their training. And any spill-over traffics from YBBN to YBMC are always welcomed. 'Toll Express' was here this early afternoon for some VOR and assym training. 'Jetstar 788' from SYD was operated by 'Sea World' VH-VQQ. Paint started to come off. Thanks for viewing. Cheers. Peter Smith 1 Report post Posted September 5, 2009 'Jetstar 788' from SYD was operated by 'Sea World' VH-VQQ. Paint started to come off.I flew on her 18months ago, just 3 days after she recieved the Sea World decals (it isn't paint) and the dolphin was already flaking. Last week she was based in Perth (ops SIN route) and looked pretty bad. Never heard of this before, so an eye-opener to me... They fly for FedEx or UPS in Australia ? Toll are a huge Australia based freight company (in late 06 they also teamed up with Dnata to start airport ground handling). They have heaps of branches, one of the more recent ventures is in air freight. As well as a bunch of Metroliners, and a couple of ATR-42's, they ops 3 733F's (flown by Airwork NZ). They also own a major stake in Virgin Blue, thus DJ carries a fair bit of toll air freight in the belly on regular services.

kianhong 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2009 (edited) Hmm..quite interesting movements at YBMC Love the Learjet in SQ colors Is the Cathay Pacific Flying college based at Maroochydore as well? They used to have a VH-registered Learjet 45 in CX colors. These LJ45s are going soon when the Mustang come next year. So I'll be 'snap snap snap' inside out. Ex-CX LJ45, VH-CXJ was based in Parafield, Adelaide and it no longer carry CX color. Latest photo show that it has turned into 'CMS Air Ambulance'. BTW, 'Toll Express', VH-TOX was here again this late afternoon for circuits. They continued with nite circuits after an hour break on the ground. kianhong 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2009 (edited) Not always blue, but i would say about 80% of the time. We had some special movements today. First up was this butch workhorse of RAAF. This aircraft type has been serving the RAAF for over 45 years! To finally step into a Caribou and see a working Bou cockpit was just amazing! Took this pix in complete darkness. Two instructors of the college brought their aircrafts here too for the movie nite. Immaculate Tiger Moth. Just beautiful. DHC-1 Chipmunk. Then, this 2 meters long RC Eurofighter Typhoon. Powered by a 35lbs thrust micro jet turbine and run on JetA1 too. Thanks for viewing. Cheers. Edited September 10, 2009 by kianhong
