MIR, I am referring to the elevated road. You can spot at the mini driving range, but must poke through the fence hole and that would 'inviting' MAB Police nearby, unless you have 9 steps ledder.. :)

Malaysian SU-30MKM make a flypass over AOR after performing rehearsal at Langkawi, then later back to Butterworth.

img1045j.jpg

*I wonder, why they didn't station at Langkawi airport as always?? still fly in and out Butterworth.

Maybe the organiser is so 'kedekut' to provide extra hotac to RMAF personnel. I was told that even pilots have to share their rooms in LGK, what more the privates and corporals .......... SAD .... :sorry:

It's nice of them giving a flypass over AOR, back in 2009 the B-52 also made a

Flee is right. It's similar back in 2011 whereby some participating aircraft departed LGK to elsewhere at the end of the day. Even non participating aircraft need to depart immediately after dropping off passengers and goods except for head of states aircraft.

I remember the last time, there was a participating Learjet and Typhoon left LGK at the end of the opening day in 2011 and they came back again the next day around 0900. The passanger terminal was also very busy early morning on the first and second day as high rank officials and tycoons jetting in before the exhibition starts. Their aircraft arrives, doors open for a few minutes and off the planes go either to PEN or SZB to wait.

Alor Setar spotters can expect something big for coming Hajj-charter season... And its not going to be an A330 ^_^

I was told that AOR was not certified for 747., so it MAY be a 777 and/or A330 would be more likely.

I am ready...hihi...

Hello Guys, I was present at AOR today (28-Aug-2013), proving flight of 777...btw, thanks T.Ahmad for reminding me. :-)

Weather was awful. Visibility approx. 1 km only, low over-shoot and circuit landing was disapproved by ATC.

Flight was delay about 2.0hours, but it worth the wait. hihi...:-)

Tower has no visibility until very final moment before touch down. Pilots visible with runway lights at 3nm from touch down.
