Normally Tan Sri become first and TF will be called as Tan Sri Tony Fernandes :D

What type of Bombardier series Tan Sri TF looking future? Is it Tan Sri TF will bring business aircraft or commercial aircraft?

Bombardier commercial aircraft segment combines the CRJ Series, Q-Series and CSeries aircraft families either twinjet or turboprop airliners.

Most probably buying CSeries to cater for low demand route...but wait, demand on any route opened by AK will shoot across the roof in few months after its initial introduction.

So what is he doing with Bombardier?? Can't be Dash 8, unless AK wants to revisit FAX's 'horror' story again....TF maybe buying business jet.....hahas!! Bombardier Challenger 850 looks nice in blood red!

Personally, believe CRJ serving secondary airports with frequency is a viable business proposition especially where A320 is over capacity.

Agree. LCC like Southwest is also moving away from one fleet type principle as the principle reached its peak. CRJ would be good for flights which has high frequency like SIN which sometimes run empty or half filled. And also for smaller airport like Ipoh, Kuantan, Batam and Padang etc.....

I wonder on which D7 flight this incident happened?

Azran Osman-Rani

Our crew r service professionals. Attempts to verbally n physically abuse them will not be tolerated. Somed10t on a flight demanded to have his rubbish cleared and when told he would return to do so after completing his cart service, bozo threw a tantrum, dumped the rubbish, hurled profanity at the crew n assaulted him. We had police waiting on arrival n lodged police report immediately. He is blacklisted.

Latest from the MH Rumour Department - turbulence at MH's throne!

A move to replace MD/CEO Tengku Azmil is mooted from inside the government and they are serious. There are concerns over recent bigger than expected losses, bad decisions on fuel hedging, 2Q looks quite bad.

The most ironic news of all is that there will be new people brought in to "clear up the mess" (again?).

There must be more than an element of politicking in all these developments. Apparently, there are moves to remove not only Tengku Azmil but eventually also IJ from his ministerial post. The "mess" in MH will be the push factor. It's hard to distinguish whether people are held accountable for their KPI achievement or is the failure to achieve the target just an excuse to change heads because someone else wants that position? It's a sad predicament we have to live with.

Azizul, it was on the news, but the rumour just died.

MAS: Azmil quit talk mere speculation

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has dismissed as mere speculation talk that its managing director and chief executive officer, Tengku Datuk Azmil Zahruddin, may step down.

“This is mere speculation,” said a MAS spokesperson in an SMS reply to queries from StarBizWeek on whether or not there was basis to the rumour that a change at MAS’ top seat was imminent. “With regards to rumours of Azmil leaving MAS as MD and CEO, this is just speculation,” the spokesperson said, adding: “He has another year’s run on his term.”

A month ago, market talk surfaced that Azmil might step down from his post. Azmil joined the board of MAS in August 2004 and a year later was appointed executive director. In 2006, he was appointed chief financial officer. He took over as MD/CEO after Datuk Seri Idris Jala left to join the Government in August 2009. Azmil’s contract with MAS runs till August 2012.

The airline’s recent sharp drop in earnings for the first quarter this year had raised questions on why the airline was still in the red when other airlines operating in similarly challenging environment were able to report a profit. This, says an observer, may have led to such rumours of resignation at the top.

Boardwise though, there was a significant development over the week. MAS announced that Tan Sri Munir Majid would stand down as chairman at the end of the month when his current term expires. He has held that position since August 2004.

A week before that, there was a significant change at senior management level when MAS senior general manager (sales and marketing) Datuk Bernard Francis resigned.

His resignation happened five months before his contract was to expire.

Francis, who had been with the carrier for nearly six years, handed in his resignation letter on July 3. On July 5, Azmil, who is now the commercial director, sent an e-mail to the management team informing them about Francis’ departure and that a restructuring was on the cards.

In the (real) corporate world, that statement should be about as significant as a flea bite on an elephant ;)

Azizul, it was on the news, but the rumour just died.

There is no smoke without fire, 90% of rumours are accurate especially one with official denial. Further, PR people are low down in the food chain, could only make statement after event has occurred.

Agreed about the official denial. More from the Rumour Department:

Aware about Md Noor taking up the chairman post and wouldn't be surprised if his people are coming along too. Tengku Azmil had been unaware of this possible coup until it came out in the media. What a shock to read in the papers that you're possibly going to be sacked.

Agreed about the official denial. More from the Rumour Department:

IJ’s BTP was to ‘clean up’ MH previous management practice (i.e. include incoming chairman). Expect the incoming chairman to unwind BTP that was targeted at decision or practice made during his tenure as MD.

Given Tengku Azmil was IJ’s protégé, Tengku Amil will have difficult decision to make, his old timer executives may seek ‘advise’ from the incoming chairman directly and the chairman will offer more operational guidance. Most CEO is unlikely to be effective in this situation.

That (IJ cleaned up mess by past CEOs which includes the incoming Chairman and now the Chairman is brought in to clean up mess by IJ and TA) is also mentioned by the Rumour Department:

There will be new people brought in to "clear up the mess" (again?) - what happened to the supposedly wonderful job by IJ? Really, they should have just let it fail when they had the chance a couple of years ago, and started again.

In some ways, whoever runs MH is doing so with one of his hands tied behind his back. Tengku Azmil has not done particularly badly - he's just the unlucky CEO to inherit the airline after an apparently successful one. Look at Fuaad after MD Nor - almost the same thing happened with Fuaad when he was blamed for losses after Md Nor's had apparently turned the airline around - which later needed to be 'transformed' by IJ. My god, when is this charade going to end?
