Norhisham K 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2009 (edited) Hello MWingers There will be an air carnival organized by the DUN (Dewan Undangan Negeri) of Sg Rambai, Melaka this June 9-11th 2009 known as the Sg Rambai Air Carnival 2009. It's during the mid year school holidays and will be held at the Sg Rambai Microlight Park, Kampung Tasek, Sg Rambai, Melaka. GPS Position (N 02 08.77’ E102 32.151’) Expected participants and shows are the Microlights, Paramotors, Paragliders, RC teams, Experimental aircraft, experimental helicopter and parajump team. Games, competition, joyrides, air display, static displays, cultural shows, karaoke singing and lots of fun are planned from 7.30 am- 10.30 pm. This event is in conjunction with the visit by the Commonwealth Youth delegates to the Homestay nearby. All MWingers are welcome. I shall update more soon as I got more details. how to get there?... Hi Li Ren, The SG Rambai Air Carnival will be extended making it a 4 days air event 6th-9th June 2009.. So far 50 pilots of Helicopter (R44), Experimental aircraft, Microlights, Paramotors and RC flyers are coming to show their skills and flying machines. I am flying there next week to check out the airstrip. Hopefully the repair work is completed, then Cessnas can do joyrides... Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Norman 1 Report post Posted June 8, 2009 Anybody went there on Sunday?... Heard there was a large crowd... anyway.. here're some more pix from Saturday afternoon... The control tower... manned by ATC personnel from DCA.. 9M-TFC Cessna 172 of Royal Selangor on short final rwy23... note the 'winglets'... hehehe Eagle 150B, also from RSFC on take off roll.. note the trees on extended centerline... No worries.... can always maneuver around them... Pushback is simple work in airstrip like Sg Rambai... Two of the guys who 'gotta do the dirty works'... Capt Norhisham (left) and Capt Farid Rahman (right)... kudos to both of you (the guy in the middle is Capt Ramesh from RSFC) --- next some shots from the air... Norman 1 Report post Posted June 8, 2009 Flying on the microlight was fun... Lining up Rwy 23 Rolling... keep an eye on the tube on the nose... that's the standby airspeed indicator.. Airborne... that was quick... Vr @ 30kts... heheh Turning left for downwind leg... looking back at the airstrip... Very nice view from the 'cockpit' through the rudder pedals... heheh Capt Chong, the PIC on my flight.. On final for Rwy23... Seconds before a smooth touchdown... I thought the opening would be on Saturday... and the Dragon Boat Race in Putrajaya was so boring.... should've gone back to Sg Rambai... Anyway... Seremban is not very far... microlight anyone?..
