Isaac 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2009 The timing of the flight was bizarre. And no daily flight. Plus it's a very low yield destination. High net worth rollers are flying into Macau either by the private jet provided by the casino they are going to burn their money or they simply charter a plane themselves. Simply no room for MH there. SQ failed to make MFM work for them many years ago with their 313 (Airbus 310-300), so i don't expect MH would. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
KK Lee 5 Report post Posted April 14, 2009 Understand tourist arrival to Macau has increased substantially over the last few years and is no longer low in traffic volume. Believe casinos will only send their private or chartered jets to very high rollers who can gamble over US$1 million during their visit. However, there are many more high rollers who gamble over US$5,000 per visit and these high rollers can afford to travel on legacy airline. It puzzle me, why MH can’t capture even 20% of market share on KUL/MFM? If low yield is the reason MH is pulling out from MFM, then how many of MH route is not low yield?
